I hope your depression will get better so that you dont fear it as much. Mental health issues really suck

Re: not coping
a new brain and new body would be most helpful! @Snowie i hate both of them right now. I have just contacted a specialist team for my foot injury in an entirely new state to me, at least its only about a 4 hr drive and they said they would be able to see me if i needed as well so i guess that's something. no guarantees that they can help and being so far away it might not be a good idea but i'm running out of options
Sorry this might not make sense.
The toolbar has changed cannot remember how to include your post so have copied and pasted.
Promising news re new specialist team
Well done in pushing through
persistence
You are far stronger than you give yourself credit for.... I have been told this so often in my life that it almost springs to mind instantly daily.
Depression is different for us all as with all mind health.
For me it is noticing "nothing"
darkness
blank
a form of dissociation from current overload of stresses
perhaps this is similar for you or perhaps not.
For me what helps is noticing the depression is there in the first place.
It is when I do not notice it that I am at risk.
You have noticed which is a start in the right direction.
If you can sit with it there and let it be...as you do with your friends on here...
sit side by side...
It will not harm you so do not fear it.
Body, mind connected letting you know too much going on for you at once.
Listen to your body and notice then be nice to yourself
Something that I have just thought of is being nice to ourselves...kind...nurturing...not fearful when we have depression is a new feeling for me.
My dear @outlander you have helped me, just in reading your words ....wanting to reach out and help you...has led me to see that I need to sit with myself as well,....be kind...nurture and sit...
We are so pleased to have you with us on the forums dear outlander..
Do not change who you are for anyone..
We love you as you are..
I am sharing coloured hearts today
just because I can

@Sophia1

now that you mention it, my depression is much like a dissociative state. i can still function and get on with what i need to but in my mind im blank, empty, kind of like being in another world.
Im fairly good at picking up my different states or moods (not sure really what to call them really), i guess like you i can also sometimes pick up my danger zones as well. SH and SI are my big warning flags as is shutting down or doing really reckless behaviour without caring i know im in some trouble.

Its hard sitting with ourselves and our emotions, actually it can almost be more scary then the condition itself. Have you heard of ACT? its a form of acceptance therapy. i done quite abit of it previously but im clearly out of practice but maybe itll be something your interested in as well. its about learning to cope with the emotions not react to them-noticing they are there without going into a full depressive state or panic attack

Thanks @outlander . The fear is really terrible and causes me to neglect other things like my diabetes care. It is what it is.

oh dear @NatureLover
depression is a scary thing. i do fear the depression but when im in that state it doesnt scare me which is why its quite dangerous for me to be in it
