Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hey @Adek Thank you, for considering a friend. Now I have have a better purpose to be in this forum. In one post I read that you were wondering about our age. I turned 50 this year. Both my kids are grown up. All thanks to God.

Gosh I had a hard time crying. Once I learnt to cry I fins it is an easier way to release pain. Now I feel less pain in my throat. I cry on my own and during prayer. @Adek you are not alone.

Hi @Bubbles3 how are you today?

Sending love from across the ocean.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@A2Z....I stay alone..and feel lonely most of times too. I frequent the masjid for majallis ilm and dhikr, go to hospital for therapist appointmts, walk at the supermarket once a week to get stuff. Visit family once in a while. These are places packed with people..but at heart..i am still lonely. I do exercises and house chores. Do fardh and nawafil. Watch tv when i am bored. At times..i cry out of loneliness. Within our hearts..truly we only have Allah and Rasulullah pbuh as our crisis assist and helpline. When i think of both i always cry and there is a stabbing pain in my heart. I just feel this loneliness and longing will only subside in the day of gathering with both in Jannah. You were right we don't have proper support system like they have here. No support workers, no helpline..no crisis centre whatsoever. Its all that Helpline within our own hearts...

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@A2Zthis could be my final post here cuz i have actually requested removal of account since Saturday. Perhaps the admins are taking sometime looking into it. I find it hard to speak my heart out here esp when there is prejudice in religious and racial issues. Being youngest in the forum.. and a loner who hardly interact with people since my retirement really made my responses sometimes blunt and inappropriate to elder members or anybody else. I love each and everyone of u here and appreciate all the advise and sharing cuz i lost my father, had a mentally ill mom since small. Being eldest lady of my siblings, i really don't have anyone older to guide me.

I really thought this thread was for those who have come into terms with reality but looks like it isn't lately. I've been crying a lot these past few days..crying again now while writing this. Have some crisis going on at mom's too so i can't head there as well. I was wondering if there is a forum among Muslims forumers in here @Former-Member that i can join?

Hi @Adek,

I am really sorry to hear that you are not feeling well-supported here in Forum Land. I read that you have requested removal of your account. I think that's something you do yourself without having to get the @Former-Member to do it, although now I think about it, I don't actually know how to do it. Hopefully someone wiser than me will come along soon to help you out with this if you are still wanting to close your account.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hi @Adek,

I am really sorry to see that you are feeling this way. I can understand that it has been a bit triggering to deal with conflict and I am sorry you are having some crisis's at home too. You are still so welcome to stay and get back to posting more in line with what this thread is about. You have developed good relationships here and you are always going to be welcome to continue on in this discussion.

We emailed you a little earlier this afternoon regarding your request - please check your inbox and let us know if you would like us to resend it

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hello @Adek

I want to thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts.

I will be very sorry to see you go

I too have been greatly affected by that experience

I had to take some prn. Today at appointment with heart specialist I was told that there is a complication with my heart and more investigations are to follow. So I need to avoid stress....laugh...how????

nobody has the right to demonstrate such rage directly at a member

I am very disappointed with lack of response from moderators re our health when we were not the ones who lost it.

so this might even be edited

if you can stay here...hold your head up high and let us continue on the way we started

should you still choose to leave I wish you all the best and hope that you can find a supportive therapist to assist you in having a better quality of life

hopefully speak soon xxx

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hi @Former-Member,

It can definitely be hard when conflict arises (there is a great resource for this here)

There is a lot that goes on in the background of the forums for us moderators - if you ever feel there is an issue or you need to let us know about something we really encourage you to email us (team@sane.org). We will always do our best to help and respond.
