Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Yea i understand what you're saying @Bunniekins between their influence and medications *it's similar for MYSELF. However consider, I'm always teetering between two realms of existence & two ways of life...
You're not alone WHEN you talk about, being out of control without professional support and meds. I'm in same boat.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Yea @MDT i think there is a religious / Christian aspect of the system, although it's hard to see at first, although the system may seem like an escape from the religious / Christian backgrounds some / most people are coming from-there is still a religious / Christian aspect to the system. Remember we've been deemed as mentally ill and not psychopaths....

As i was saying to greenpea I'm constantly teetering between two realms and two existences...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@eudemonism My pdoc I see every week. She goes through what I have done in DBT with me and is there if anything triggers me or I find it hard to deal with. Before I began DBT she actually helped me a lot. I was not in a good place and I could rely on her to be around to help me when I was really struggling - she not only worked with my GP on meds but on a plan to keep me out of hospital but safe. I saw her weekly then as well and we talked a lot about what was going on for me - I no longer saw my psychologist so she provided that extra support I needed.

My pdoc also sorts out what meds and dosages I take but it is all sent to my GP who gives me the presecriptions - it is so everything I am prescribed is in the one place and easily accessible. I also see my GP once a week but was seeing her every day for many months when I was at my worst.

I know the care I have received from my healthcare professionals has been outstanding and that is not the case with many on here - I do consider myself to be very fortunate to have such a great team around me and I do think it has been invaluable in helping me get to the stage I am at now ...I wish everone here had the same level of care

Who am i kidding @Zoe7 ???
I've also had outstanding care. But unfortunately, my illness makes me very difficult to deal with...
I was just cooking dinner in the kitchen *a good sign... and then some old voices came to revisit me... perhaps my past doesn't want me getting to far away???
I haven't heard these voices for some months-and then all of a sudden-they come out of nowhere...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

I can't even imagine how difficult that is for you @eudemonism - especially that they come out of the blue like that

Do you find they settle down quickly or anything you do helps them go away?

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Zoe7the voices come and go... stress has been building up for a few days now-i suppose everything is sinking in... *meaning the nature of what I'm dealing with... -Yea i heard dribs and drabs of commenting over my life; old comments and quotes; so i went outside and thought / reflected about how serious this is... gonna do some meditating now...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Stress can be a catalyst for so much of our thinking @eudemonism - I definitely overthink things when I am stressed and find it difficult at times to let things go but I am learning new ways all the time to do that. ...but I understand your situation is very different and not that easy to get under control. I hope being able to talk about it a bit more here though helps.
