Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

I couldn’t agree with you more! I decided to get involved with this group of carers trying to make an impact on the government health system. At the same time as that I was having enormous challenges with my son at hospital. I realized very clearly that it’s a long way from this system functioning reasonably well! It often makes the mental health of its so-called clients much much worse and then they just discharge you when you are considering no risk to yourself or society to cover their arses! This doesn’t mean I’m going to give up but it means that I am going to keep pushing so that they can at least listen to lived experience.

That’s all for now.

Have a great day

Yea @Dadcaringalone the gp WAS preaching to me about choices last time i went to see him. The same gp who was involved with myself being put on a cto, which meant i had no choice but to take injection. Ironic don't you think lol?

Bloody ironic! The GP my son went to put him on antidepressants which made him suicidal and even more manic! This is professional incompetence. After he was weaned off these he is not suicidal anymore. It’s too hit and miss and they just cross their fingers 🤞and hope what they are prescribing will hit the mark! This is far from an exact science...

Yea that's it aye @Dadcaringalone yet they get paid and treated like their doing a good job... you know-providing a service for the community -my behind-providing a service for themselves *a pay cheque every week. For ages i thought, I'm finally getting the help i need, I'm finally going to sort out all this stuff, which has caused my problems-but all they've pretty much done is build a file based around 2% of who i am-which is all symptoms to a mental illness in their eyes. -and then medicated 100% of me. -which after 12 years has given me more problems then i started with. And of course my file which the treating professional's are contributing to, is getting bigger and more negative by the day... its all bureaucratic rubbish!

Yes its a complete fooking load of bullshit!! The 2 things which puts me over the edge are:

1. This attitude that one size fits all, I love the quote on the desk of my son’s disability officer at uni, “labels are for jars not people”

2. My major gripe is that medicos are encouraged to prescribe medication by drug companies because they often get a kickback or are invited to lavish events they host! In many industries this would be considered corruption but its an acceptable practice in Medical circles! Go figure...

I finally got the best care I could when I took responsibility myself and from meditation not medication and self care.

Take care and look after yourself
