Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Yea @Former-Member

On a planet with a population of approximately 7 billion its hard to believe that one can suffer from loneliness. But its true. I questioned if there really that many people on earth... who would know?

Rather then stick to family like glue i figure its better to have more options.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Thanks @Former-Member, I feel motivated to get up.

I have been going to be late as well ... so naturally not enough sleep I suppose. I am going try @Adek 's tip of and drink enough to so at least I can get up. Lets see.

I totally get that feeling of heavy eyes... loathing myself for not getting out of bed.

I can bearly make to work now (restructuring at workplace and people are stressed about the security of their jobs).... and also miss breaky at times. I do not fuction properly without my breakfast.

I set my alarm. No help. I left it far from the bed and for couple of night it worked because I was not too sure about the alarm and jummed out of the bed. Then back the struggle.

If I can get up just before dawn I will feel like I have conqured the world.

Good night @Former-Member all the best to you as well 🙂

@Former-Member

I think responding thoughfully and sharing what works for us is the way to go. So we can try and it may and may not work. Better try differnt options than do nothing.

Also posing questions to seek answers fro differnt perspectives will be great.

Have great day everyone 🙂

Hi @eudemonism

I am out bed latest by 7am. I just want to get up early so I can engage in prayer & meditation before I do anything else. When I was able to do get up early do the prayer & mediation I feel so good. During the day I feel more energetic and alert too.

Taking photos that great. Share some with us. What kind of photos do you take? Being in the nature is always great. On rare occassion I have slept until 11am and also go to bet by 8:00pm.

Enjoy your day 🙂 and good night.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonismHi, hope you had a great day 🙂

I came across your post and it is interesting. I wanted to share my thoughts based on my experiences.

I like your view of making changes to mental attitude. I fight with my lack of will power to get up before dawn and now you got different challenges. Yes, there is possibility to be medication free [depending on the attitude, perseverance and prayer] Why prayer because we are not in control of everything. Specially with systems.

You have provided good reasons and have the skills to bring about change. Change is the only constant thing. With change we learn and grow. So embrace change and dive in for an adventure. The hard part is to put into action. I do not know much about drugs. I have read enough to know it is something to keep away from and encourage others to stay away and give up if using.

I grew up in a family that did not know about relationship. I learnt by watching and avoiding things that I did like. Even giving up friends. You are so right bad environments and bad influence are not helpful to build a good character.

Quality life and relationship are something we have to work on. It required a lot of effort. It is not available we have to search and then kind of create. If I make sense.

Fear of the unknown is a great set back. To conquer fear, the tool I use is prayer. I pray to the Creator/Owner of the universe. The King/God of humankind. So I feel under protection and feel more secure.

Life is what we make. The obstacles we face and how we overcome those is how our life will be defined.Give no thought for tomorrow, escape what is 'hard to escape'. If I can reflect and think of what is good I have no excuse not walk towards the good.

I am glad you 'become the ugly duckling' that gives you the opportunity to become the beautiful/handsome swan.

All the best keep smiling 🙂
