Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

@eudemonism

Families can be so difficult to deal with..

Even harder when struggling with mind stuff...medication symptoms..

they just do not get it...

I have breaks from my family...

time away sometimes not always helps defuse situations...

sometimes it is realising that our personalities clash...

I had an awful experience in a store yesterday which has left me feeling frightened and triggered...

heated discussion with husband earlier..I am still unsettled..

I just rang lifeline and had a long chat with a lady ...it did help..

do you think that might work for you...

just talk about whatever comes to mind..

it does help to get it out of our systems...

what do you think?

Hello @eudemonism

I think that I understand where you are coming from...

It is so very tiresome trying to be the person that our families expect us to be sometimes...

you and I are similar in this way...

I have spent a whole lifetime trying to keep myself from saying something that might upset certain members of family..

yet they feel quite justified in openly judging me...

Now that I am starting to not put myself last...they see that as my being even more difficult..

Are they not listening to you Eude? Just talking at you or around you?

Hello @eudemonism

Excuse my ignorance but what is a "downer?'

Obviously I know what a cigarette is..

You certainly do not need a lecture from me about cigarettes or downers whatever they might be...

The lifeline telephone call helped me more than I imagined...I expected it to be just an opportunity to talk...

I just let the words flow straight out of my mouth and this lady was listening intently..

just to have that happen is so powerful....someone listening intently to your words and trying to understand how you are feeling...

I still feel a little upset...anxious...the overwhelming feeling has gone away though..

You can make a call of course and not write about it on here ...

@eudemonism

Perhaps best not to think about family at the moment...as you have said how unwell you are feeling...

think about that another day with a fresh mind...

it is natural for you to have second thoughts about this upcoming psychiatrist appointment..

you have had such dreadful experiences in the past with the mental health system..

this upcoming appointment is triggering those past feelings...

you are in today now ....the past is not happening today...you are safe...

this is exactly what I experienced yesterday and today...the lady on the lifeline call reassured me that the fear for me is triggered from past feelings...events...they are not happening now..

Keep the appointment...worst scenario...you don't like him...fine...don't go back...

better scenario...you might be surprised....this new person might actually be interested and keen to help you...

only way to find out...go for the appointment..

you can do this...you have come this far...

Sophia

A downer is pharmaceutical drugs which have the sedation, sleepiness, lethargy effect. They make you tired. @Sophia1 i think it's just mother nature doing this to me. Example. The wind. The temperature. The humidity. The moon phase. The atmospheric pressure. - The dodge tide. Do you know what a dodge tide is? Plus i am getting low of the poison they give me. In other words withdrawing. Getting short tempered. Plus. I'm not in good shape. I'm worn out and run down. I'm tired of reaching out for help in real life. Tired of looking for answers, help and support in professionals. Plus I'm drinking coffee. Smoking cigarettes ( nearly got none left) having the odd alcoholic drink.
