Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Hope4me basically, I'm tired of doing the same old thing, and I'm tired of being stuck in the same old routine. (It's driving me crazy, i feel like I'm serving sentence) I would like to change my medication (get off of depot injection) because i believe it's fuelling my habits and routines. But what i don't want is to double dose on depot medication as well as oral. I would like to get off of the depot injection. And get onto oral meds... possibly morning and evening doses so it can hopefully bring about much needed change. Because yea... I feel I'm getting nowhere and going around in circles... But none of the doctor's I've seen wanna do anything... they all refer me to psychiatrists and last time that came with belittling and demeaning words from the nurse who originally diagnosed me...

I'm annoyed at the mood swings over 28 days caused by the depot. Huge highs and lows. Problems sleeping. Coffee and smoking to cope with side effects. Plus dealing with other bad side effects. I feel I've become very morbid and stagnant. And have very few options. Which is making me very annoyed and frustrated.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Good morning @Sophia1 just an update... my current depot medication really ain't working that well. The intended effects & side effects are actually quite horrendous. And It's truly driving me around the bend... day in, day out... week in, week out... month in, month out... year in, year out... it's truly driving me mad... Not to mention... i actually don't think it's a problem with my brain chemistry (chemical imbalance), that needs outside chemicals in the form of pharmaceutical drugs to fix... and truth be known im sure science would prove that, it just makes it even more frustrating to deal with...

@Bunniekins@Hope4me@Former-Member@Appleblossom@utopia@Sophia1

I genuinely don't feel I'm getting in return the help, care and support I'm freely giving. And i really resent that... Because I've put my heart and soul into helping, caring and supporting people on a regular basis now for about 6 years, in the form of visiting people, being a social support and encouraging. *of course it serves a purpose for myself, and i needed to be in a desperate position to do this, to begin with. And I'm just not getting it in return. If anything i feel I'm getting robbed of my peace of mind and sanity and burdened in return.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@eudemonism I am not sure what @Sophia1 @utopia @Former-Member @Hope4me think ...

It seems there are many personality types and people have different degress of social responsibility. We are shaped by many factors and I am learning to put out boundaries and be less accomodating to others. At first most of my getting out and about was in charitable organisations. Now I socialise more and am still amazed at the level of self centredness in well educated and well heeled grown ups. It is shocking really, but its best I recognise it and not put myself out for others to take advantage of. It is better that, then the realisation that a person I had felt postive about was actually an awful user. I need to put out more little testing comments in my conversations. WHen things are not reciprocal I am learning to pull back and turn elsewhere.

Eude, you have come a long way.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@eudemonism it is tough trying to stay positive when life throws up so many negative experiences. I am learning more now to look at those positives in my life when I am also feeling very negative. It is not easy to do when one is very low or has had a negative expereince. It must be even harder to do when you have such ups and downs as you are having. Sometimes we simply want life to be easy - for others that we connect with to give as much back as we do - but that is their issue Eude - not yours. I know you want to get the same level of support back but are constantly disappointed in people - I hear you so much on that front - but some people are just like that and sometimes we just need to accept that and work with what we have. We can't change others but we can change how we ourselves deal with them.

@eudemonism

Eude, I will be taking some time out, as I am very unwell atm, & need to rest my mind, & give my body, & my emotional energy time to, heal. I am confident that you will receive all the, love, care, friendship, & support, from the others that contribute, on a regular basis, to your well being in this Thread, here.

I will come back, as soon as I am able to be there for you, also, ok. 🙂

Love & Hugs!

@eudemonism Hi Eude you are a smart, caring person I am sure anything that you put your mind to would work. Having faith in yourself is the key. Just that little bit of faith. xx
