Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

You're cool @Former-Member

Half my problem is dealing with stress. I'm going to ask doctor for referal to counselling sessions. And work out how to manage stress better. Meaning. Find more comforting activities to do with my day. Or just find the motivation and confidence i need to put all the stuff i already know into practise.

I figure if I'm participating in comforting, therapeutic, positive and healthy activities for a large portion of each day, on a regular bssis. I won't be stressing. And i won't be using caffeine, nicotine or alcohol to cope with the stress.

Stuff like swimming, walking, riding, art, music, writing, meditation, photography, volunteering, helping people & giving my time to people. Hobbies. Fishing. Photography. Fur family time. Etcetera.

I'm going to start leaving the bad habits out of the good stuff. However i must stress that the whole ordeal of being diagnosed, being a patient, dealing with the mhs, being medicated, dealing with side effects, dealing with professionals on a regular and ongoing basis. Is in itself a very stressful experience.

I'm going to start confessing my faith. And using faith to implement small and achievable goals for myself. Which point me in a direction and destination, which God And the professionals approve of. How does that sound???

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Thanks @TAB driving lesson went well.

@eudemonism Its not for me, its for my son.

The good thing is that he is very thorough and cautious and does not take dangerous risks. I know most people say you cant teach your children. I have paid for some lessons. Its about his commitment to being a part of society. YOu might really understand that Eude ... I dont stress too much with him, though I dont have my own set of brakes. I have to trust. I have taught him many things including piano, music and cooking, so driving is fine. The bad side is that he is doing it intermittently, needs a lot of control over all variables and so learning process is very slow and taking longer than normal. He is 26. It is what it is.

Eude I can understand your points, and am glad you are taking a positive, proactive approach.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Appleblossom when i was 16 you only needed to have your Ls for two weeks and your Ps for six months. Now days it's totally different. Unfortunately or luckily i missed that opportunity and didn't get my full license until i was 25 or so. I take the responsibility of owning and maintaining a car, and being a safe road user very seriously. Each year because of the medication i need to get a medical clearance. Ex. Drug and alcohol blood test. Eye test. Reflex test. A little annoying but oh well. I used to ride a push bike everywhere... but now days it's a car... I'm sure your son will be fine @Appleblossom...experience is a good teacher...
