Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

It might take a while to change your "acceptable treatment". I have heard that once a CTO it is hard to change it, BUT it is possible. Can you take a long term optimistic approach and build up a support team? @eudemonism

Use your budget of psychologist appointments to find someone who is sympathetic and does not believe meds are the be all and end all ... It probably needs some other professionals involved to tip the prescribing ...

Hello @eudemonism

Lovely to read so much interaction on here...

laughed at the "a party going on here" comment from Appleblossom..

we can certainly go with that theme when you are feeling in party mode Eude...understandably not now though...

time now for calming and adjusting to this part of your medication cycle...

hopefully managing at the same time to remember that the dreadful part does pass and you will have days where you have a more peaceful mindset...

my "family member" has just struggling with having depot injections...

had another long telephone conversation....

I do feel for you too Eude...

In regard to family and their approach to mental unwellness...I imagine that the majority do not get it or want to know...I came to this realisation with my family after many many years from their reactions and avoidance of subject after hospital stays....

I decided that to be kind to myself...the best way for me to handle them was to just not worry about their attitudes...lack of understanding...compassion...empathy...

I realised that they were out of their comfort zone and basically incapable of showing empathy due to their own anxieties..

I decided to stop blaming myself...start practising to like myself and let my family deal with their own stuff...

Even now when I see my sister she cannot sit still...does not hold conversations...just fires questions at me...she is the one who is anxious not me...

Perhaps your parents cannot cope with their own anxiety...still love you as they invite you there...

hope that I have not written too much..

hello @TAB

Yes I believe that those of us who choose not to grow up or just don't without realising more the case with me until latter years have a better view of the world...

I am sure that there are even more imps than have let be known....

after all that is what imps get up to isn't it...
