Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 I'm starting to think about laying down more stern and stronger boundaries with people in my life. My recovery through my mental struggles has meant I've had to cling onto any relationship I could get ahold of. As a lot of previous relationships became to troublesome, I've also had to rebuild alot of relationships, all very hard work and very demanding, now days my entire life is heavily dependant on social structure, relationships and social routine. So I'm constantly adapting and evolving my behavior from person to person, continually faced with new challenges, and continually learning about myself and others. - here's a concept that might interest you. I learned that I had to adapt to the people in my life and the world around me. And not expect the world around me and people in my life to adapt to me. Eude

Hi @eudemonism - a sense of selfself can be hard for a lotof us. Have you ever heard of "locus of control" (psychology one)? Its believed an internal locus of control is more stable than external. I can't be everything for everyone so I set values and aim at them. It takes a lot for me not to get it all muddled, but think I hear you. Do look after you first, so you can be the best you you can be to offer world and especially thoae you livlovee xox

@Sophia1, sorry you're struggling atm and unable to say what's triggered you. I can relate to those thoughts "when is enough enough?" Talking to myself when I say to you

"we still breathe for a reason,

there'a still something left to do,

to learn, to take with us

into the afterlife,

Something we'll need"

So, apart from loveing our neighbour AS OURSELF (are we loving, taking care of OURSELF?), we have to give tomorrow the benefit of the doubt.

I actually get excited when II

- sleep through √

- wake with no pain √ or

- wake with no distressing thoughts Theses are the days to live for xox

Hugz & Hugz to both of you xox

@Sophia1 I think there was a build up of energy a few days ago. I could feel it in the air. I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. If you've got someone you're thinking about reaching out to. Don't hesitate because of doubt or resentment. Just reach out. You're a good person. You deserve to feel good in the moment of each day. Yesterday and tomorrow are out of our control. But today and in the moment is where our happiness, health, sanity, peace of mind and contentment comes from. Eude

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

yes @eudemonism @Former-Member

that full moon business again......

thank you both for your caring responses...

Both of you have made reference to a way of thinking that when the struggle can be too hard...it is so easy to calm oneself by ..living in the now....by loving ourselves...being grateful for the simple things...

thank you both for reminding me...

I did tell myself when I was driving to group today..."just breathe...you are alive...you can drive...you are going out...look at how far you have come"..

having said that I did go the wrong way...ended up adding on about 15 minutes to my journey on the way there...

coming home I went the wrong way and had to ring husband ...

my sense of direction is non existent ...when my head is foggy I have no hope...

take care both of you

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Friendconnect & @Bunniekins I'd just like to apologize to the both of you. I feel I was a bit snobbish an ungrateful toward both of your offers to help, support and talk. Have felt this way for ages... And only just getting around to writing this apology now... I'm also sorry I wasn't more considerate of your feelings, I feel I said a few inappropriate things, and had preconceived and misconstrued ideas in the back of my mind, which manifested into odd reactions toward you both.
