Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Yes understand you feeling that way @eudemonism

I would feel exactly the same and avoid that way if possible...

are you able to find other ways even if it takes you a few minutes out of your way...

or is your car still working...can you drive somewhere else and go for a walk from there...?

walking your dog is important for you both ....

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Sophia1 I've got options. Thank you for caring. I'm not that bothered about it. Me and Mister do alright. It's partly because I've given up. And partly because there's no need for it. And partly because of what the oral meds are doing to me.

The previous medication they had me on. Had some really nasty side effects. Swollen tongue and trouble breathing, uncontrollable movements, and Parkinsonism it was really nasty! It was terrible actually...

I've been coughing, I've been congested and I've been feeling like I got the flu.. And I'm pretty sure it's a side effect of the oral meds I been taking for a month and a half now. Plus weight gain, drowsiness and so on. Very uncomfortable really...

Plus the breast enlargement, and huge hormone changes. So the mental health system and the professionals think my little bit of distress. Is worth me dealing with these types of side effects. It's cruel really.

I'm really annoyed at the system and the professionals. I swear to god they don't know how to deal with normal people and normal problems. And they don't realise what it's truly about. It's like they get a kick out of dealing with weak and vulnerable people. Who are messed up on pharmaceutical drugs. It becomes a case of not dealing with the real problem. And slapping a diagnosis on people. Administering drugs. And then treating people like there's something wrong. It's like they get a kick out of it. They are there for themselves and they are there for the money.

@Sophia1

I can't shake this chesty cough I've had for about 4 weeks now. I'm not sure what's going on. I caught the flu and started taking oral meds at about the same time. And a listed side effect of the medicine Is a cough, congestion and flu like symptoms. It's very uncomfortable...

My feet have been aching because of the cold. And possibly because of stuff I'm eating. I'm tired of dealing with the side effects 24/7 I'm having fleeting thoughts about doing what I assume is right and good. But I just don't have the motivation to follow through with the action. And I'm resorting too unhelpful stuff. So you could imagine how frustrating it is...

Stuck in a rut basically...

Eude...

@eudemonism

your last post explains even more why your energy and motivation are zapped...

let alone why you feel fed up....

and here I am prattling away about walking...environment...blah blah blah

I am so sorry....

that is the hard part of virtual chatting or whatever it is called these days...

I cannot help myself though Eude....four weeks of these symptoms....you have to see the doctor and either get some antibiotics if it is a chest infection...or some reassurance about what is happening to your body...

I have probably said this before...write a list of all of your symptoms that are impacting on your every day life and show your doctor....if he wants to keep it ask for a copy...

I am not going to judge you...please know that....I am fuming that you are not getting the medical care that you are entitled to though..

what can I do to help you?

would you prefer that I just read your posts and let you know that I am thinking of you along with what you are writing...?

would you like to be distracted and tell me about something that you enjoy doing when feeling better than you are now? one subject that we could expand on perhaps..

I shall stop now...the last thing that I want to do is turn this into a ...you should type of response...

I will always get back to you if not on the computer at the time of your post...

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Sophia1 I'm just annoyed that I'm not living life to the fullest. And my target of blame for this matter. Becomes the mhs, professionals and the meds.

Just reading you replies is a distraction. There's probably nothing you can do.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

good morning @eudemonism

reading the posts of a person with whom you have been communicating with for some time is a distraction...

I had not thought of it from that perspective...

It is very cold here again today...yesterday I curled up in bed and read a book that I have nearly finished...

I shall try and go to the library today if I am well enough to this afternoon..

I might even sit in one of the comfy corners and read some of the larger reference books that you cannot borrow...can look through them there..

hope that you are starting to feel some improvement in the chest area....must see a doctor if it persists...there are bouts of bronchitis and pneumonia about at this time of year...if is an infection the doctor will give you some antibiotics. to keep on taking until it is completely gone...

a big hug for you and Mister....is puss still about?
