Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@eudemonism

when relaxing ..let your mind rest....give it a holiday from thinking.....

then when refreshed think for a short while and then take another mind rest..

It has taken me a long time to think of this strategy.....even longer to practise it...

I have spent too much time analysing...now take time to look around and notice nature and the world around me...

hope that this works for you..I find it very grounding myself..

take care as always ..if I don't catch you tomorrow morning..should be back on Sunday or Monday..

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Sophia1 yea no worries

It's hard to see progress in the moment. It's easy to feel like giving up. It's easy to loose hope. I was talking with someone today. Who mentioned 'know what you're looking for' either out of the moment. Out of the relationship. Or out of the activity. Priceless analogy really. And a treasure.

So I gather it means what it says. 'know what you're looking for' and another thing I've been told. 'if you choose to do something - follow through with it'

I find stuff like this to be really helpful. Because for such a long time now. I been riddled and overwhelmed with symptoms.

Hi @eudemonism@Sophia1@Former-Member@TAB@Shaz51@patientpatient@Faith-and-Hope@patientpatient@Friendconnect

This thread I have read with so much interest. I have a son talking just like you @eudemonism, maybe you might remember meeting me before. He's only bit younger than you. You certainly are not alone.

As a mum I try to be by his side as much as I can. not only as his mum but also his 'carer'.

I do it with all my love. However, I need to learn more about how the mind works.

As you are a bit older, you have so much more experience and I just want to say thank you for writing them on this Forum. You oughta get paid for it! I hope one day you will publish something, I will be the first to buy it, unless @Sophia1 beats me to it.

How supportive has she been, you have your own virtual mum!

sending you all big hugs

and I hope you continue with this thread Eude.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Grasshopper3 yea I've started taking oral meds recently as well. The injection just don't work well enough. I've had my battles and struggles from a very young age. They never went away. And life never got easier. I've had to let go of everything I ever wanted in life or dreamt of. And am only just beginning to focus my energy around my needs.

I had tea with my parents this evening. It's a good break from my reality. And fills the void in my life for a little while.

Yea I've struggled and fought against loosing the life I would of liked for a very long time now.

Eude.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hi @Sophia1 how is life treating you?

I'm managing OK. Just existing I suppose you could say... The winter solstice is not far away... What's your thoughts and feelings on the shortest day of the year?

I've slowed down a lot in last few months. I'm just taking life as it comes. I don't fixate on how I want things to be any more. I just focus on what I need.

Oh that reminds me. I have an errand to run for a friend. I hope you have a good day xx
