Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

hello @eudemonism @Silenus @Bunniekins @Former-Member @TAB @Friendconnect

how are you all ....

autumn has arrived...another season I love...the many changes of nature occurring....birdlife busy in their worlds...

I haven't done any mindfulness....I think for me I have always practised my own form....I find it useful pre whatever is going on in my mind not post...

does that make sense?

grounding myself...feeling the surface beneath my feet...touching...tactile helps me the most when in a more difficult phase...

I even practised meditation which I have only done on and off since first learning a method...

is very good also..

I hope that you are all finding some peace from your environment....

I visited the sea whilst in hospital....the sight incredible...the smell...nothing else like it...stayed with me for some time after I got back to my room....such a beautiful sensation...

I am so pleased to be back out and able to experience nature...I missed this so much even though I had a beautiful view in the first hospital only for the day before surgery..

share your environment experiences if you are up to it..

take care..

Ahhh Yes

I went through a

The Doors to Perception

and

The Doors

stage.

70s I believe.

Not sure how many doors that opened or closed for me.

C'e la vie.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Sophia1 Good morning Sophia1 what a beautiful post. I love the ocean too as I love the open spaces of bushland. Although in saying so the ocean scares me. I wouldn't go swimming in the sea anymore to afraid of what lurks below ... afraid of what hides behind trees in the outback. Love the idea of flying but to afraid in case I fall out of the sky. So I hide in a virtual world behind my computer ... for the present that is until I can summit up the courage to take flight and grab my bucket load of goodies and do everything again of what I could do in the past. I will get there and then there will be no stopping me 🙂

Wishing everyone a day where they leave their demons behind them. xxx

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hi @Sophia1 it's good to have you back

I went walking with Mister the other day. It was down the beech. He loves chasing the waves. The sky was blue. There was white clouds. The waves were crashing on the shoreline. There was nobody but me and my dog on the beech.

Yea mindfulness is helpful but I've found it hard to maintain. If you can practise it regularly I imagine it would be of much benefit. I go to a park bench sometimes and just sit there, meditate and remind myself of all the helpful thoughts (counselling techniques) which defuse and ease the heavy thoughts of guilt and shame (negative thinking cycles) and try to build my confidence with self talk. Build myself a positive self perception profile. Get myself out of the rut.

All the best

Eude
