Talking about not talking

Talking about not talking

@Former-Member and @Zoe7 thanks for your replies in the other thread. Figured I would make a new thread for this stuff so that if there is more to say/not-say, it can be said/not-said here.

Re: Talking about not talking

I'm feeling stressed/sad/tired and I hate that the first "solution" my mind turns to is self harm and suicide. Get with the program, brain. I just realised I have the 10th anniversary of my first suicide plan coming up soon. Delightful. 😒

Re: Talking about not talking

Good morning @TheVorticon.

I get so frustrated that my default can be 'I'm done now' sometimes when I am feeling sad or stressed too. 10 years is a long time to have been managing that.

The anniversary thing is something I'm feeling the pain of at the moment as well, as each day brings it closer. I don't know what I am going to do or how I am going to do it. It doesn't feel very good though.

I don't really have much to say, which I think is ok being this is a talking about not talking place and that I think sometimes saying things back isn't always helpful. I do wish often that words could fix everything, but we know they can't. I'm hearing you and listening though.

I hope you can be nice to yourself today. I think you're worth it.

Re: Talking about not talking

@TheVorticon I'm just dropping by to let you know I've heard you. Thoughts are thoughts. They are neither good or bad, they just...are.

Anniversaries are superly duperly tough. I tend to have a lot of ceremony around difficult anniversaries. I find that immersing myself in the grief and having a lot of ceremony helps me process the loss much better than trying to distract from it or avoid it. However, this is just me and I know everybody would navigate those difficult days differently.

I hope you can do something fun to brighten your day today @TheVorticon.

Re: Talking about not talking

Thanks @KobeCat. I don't think strategising will be a productive use of time, but thanks for the offer.

@CheerBear sorry to hear that you're struggling with an anniversary of a tough thing coming up. And that you have a similar default thought pop up when things are difficult.I wish I had something to say that would make those things better/easier for you too. Thanks for listening.

@Phoenix_Rising thanks for the tip about how you usually deal with anniversaries. I'm feeling weird about this one and am not sure how I want to handle it. Thanks for listening and dropping by (although I hope without any eagle droppings being dropped at the same time).

@anyone-who-is-interested - I did have a pretty busy-social day yesterday and have something family-social on today too, so those are fun but tricky in their own ways. Good distractions from other stressful stuff though.

Re: Talking about not talking

Just had to pop in to say that today's thing was so much fun. 😄

I wish I could share more about what it was, but I'm pretty open on here and already feel like if anyone from my real life stumbled across the forums they'd probably figure out that I am me. So because I want to talk about this thing in real life, I won't talk too much about it here right now (maybe awhile down the track).

But man it was fun. I kinda feel bad cause I may have taken more than my fair share of turns at stuff but I tried to share whenever I realised I'd been monopolising things. I hope I get to do it again sometime, and maybe be more mindful of letting other people have a go first.

Re: Talking about not talking

I'm just sick of my b.s. every time something's even slightly stressful.

  • Have to have an awkward conversation - how about not being alive instead?
  • Mess something up - can't mess anything else up if I'm not alive to do it.
  • Have a tight deadline - get it? Deadline?

Just either stop or get it over with. Either way, grow a pair.

I don't alway use the quote thingy ...easier at the minute....head pretty foggy....messy...blech

sick of b.s. hmmm yes over it I agree

avoiding awkward conversation...how about not being alive instead? hmm...I am actually over my programmed thinking rubbish regurgitating the same old same old...."dont want to be around any more"

Mess something up - can't mess anything else up if I'm not alive to do it......hmmmm. yes same answer as above I am sick of my go to "dont want to be around any more"

Have a tight deadline - get it? Deadline? hmmm....is this out of my control? hmmm yes same answer as above I am sick of my go to "dont want to be around any more"

conclusion from my point of view re my points of my life....I am sick of my programmed thinking blah blah blah

I am fed up with being me more so because of the way I react than the actual problems that I have now

does that make sense @TheVorticon?

I am not questioning your responses...your feelings...I totally respect them they are yours

your post has made me question mine though

I think that I am angry because I am back being irritable...angry...fed up...heading down the road to depression...

so I am talking about not talking about my way of thinking about my thinking
