Re: Anyone feel like chatting?

No plans for today - like usual. I had probably 4 hours of sleep last night and that is pretty good ! Definitely in regards to how little sleep I had been getting nights prior. @outlander

What about you? Anything interesting going on? How did you sleep?

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?

Lack of sleep isn't great. I do try to stay off my device at night though - so that people can't go at me and put all the blame onto a simple screen.

I am sorry to hear that last night was horrible 😞 My last few nights have been horrible too. Everytime I fall asleep all I have our nightmares... and being awake is also a nightmare. eh. what can you do.

That is good that your car is getting fixed. There is only 1 person out of 5 who can drive and has a car in my household.. makes it difficult getting around. People also don't want me going for my L's because they are afraid of my anxiety mixed with the pressure of driving on the road.

I should be doing housework too but -- just cannot be bothered @outlander

@Former-Member

yeah i turn it off at 11 if not before hand. i try to be asleep by 11, doesnt usually work though.

being on the road is pretty stressful, i dont and cant drive if im not in the right frame of mind. ive realised it too dangerous and i take too mnay risks. speeding, texting while driving, going to close to other cars. not good so i know not to drive now, before i went into hospital my only thoughts were to let go of the driving wheel and i had kids in the car. i also realised before that i often dissociate while driving too, ill often be somewhere i dont even remeber getting to or ive gone past where i needed to go. so its not safe while in a bad headspace.

if i dont do soemthing through the day then im left wiht my thoughts and as much as i hate housework it can help sometimes.

so far ive done a laod of washing, folded all the already dired clothes, put my clothes away, cleaned all the kitchen and dining room including the dishes. ive only got to get the rest of the washing done, put my sisters clothes away and vaccum the floor and im done until later this arvo when i go to do the part time care job.

you definelty have something to be proud of though- you listed and identifed quite alot of your triggers

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?

Hey all

Well I deleted that person from facebook. Stupid person. Don't even know why I bothered trying to keep in contact. I honestly hate that. What's more is that someone else did the same thing. I think it's because I told her that I liked her way back and ever since it has just been awkward. I no longer do and she just mutes me on facebook. Screw that.

Sometimes I just hate myself for being so sentimental all the time. It gets me nowhere. My relationship history is non existant and in the social circles i am involved with it's all about sex. It's absurd. I thought people were more than that?

Anyways. Nearly saw a friend today but he canned it. I think it was because of his meds for bipolar.

Life is rought at the moment.

I'm gonna go ahead now and apply for a bunch of tutoring positions i saw advertised.

I'm just so over being on my own so much. Really. It's beginning to feel like I deserve to be this way.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?

Hi @outlander, I ended up reading through the courses on open2study and decided to enrol in the intro psy course. It seems pretty straightforward, a bit like the behavioural sciences courses I did when I got my degree all those years ago. I hope anxiety doesn't get the better of me and I end up failing or withdrawing.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?

@Queenie yeah it is pretty straightforward. i found that most of it was common knowledge to some extent. the pop quizzes are easy and the assessment tasks are jsut multiple choice and most of them are common knowledge. you get three attempts with endless time limit

i think youll do great

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?

@MDT good on you for deleting that person. its not worth all the dramas.

people are more than just sex your right there, you need to form friendships and relationships too.

are you able to join another social group to meet other people to form some new/other friendships where not everyhting revolves around sex.

good on you for applying for some tutoring jobs. what subjects are you most interested in when it comes to teaching?

and also people with anxiety and depression often find it hard to make and keep good friendships. its not just you, dont be too hard on yourself

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?

Plus there is lots of support and exemptions extensions if you let them know your circumstances. It's confidential. @Queenie @outlander well prob a lot moreso now that 20 years ago nearly when I was there.
It really helped me re depression/anxiety it gave me focus, self belief, occupied me, was interesting, challenging, sometimes too much but there are many ways around that. I got through. Not that I ever used degree after der lol. Big achievement for me anyway was very validating and made me feel better about not finishing year 12 back in the day 😀
