**Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

**Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

Apologies for this long, ranting post, but I have to get it out of my head. I don't care if you read it or not.

For weeks now, I felt so incredibly overwhelmed with sadness; on the edge of tears constantly that never get released. I'm back on medication for depression which doesn't seem to be working after 3 weeks.

Nothing brings much satisfaction anymore, not even my job, which was one thing I had to hold onto to keep me going. And after yet another impulsive attempt and a trip to hospital last weekend, where I also take shifts, my professional conduct & capacity is being questioned by other staff and departmental managers. I don't blame them; I would probably feel the same way.

My SI is actually an acceptable 'coping mechanism' for my BPD when life gets to much, and I need to shut down. But now it's become a burden and problematic because of how often I've presented to hospital in the last 6months. Often if I feel 'safe' enough, I stay home and sleep it off. So now, after feeling like I've burdened health services to the point of annoyance, I feel like I have go ahead and made a proper effort because I deserve to be punished for that. I can't 'urge surf' these SI/SA thoughts anymore. I feel compelled to put them into proper action. Now that I have made that decision, I am scared, that if I really intend to go through with it, there's no coming back, no tommorows.

Why do I now suddenly care so much about dying, when I never did before with any other major attempts? I don't really know, but it's got me really rattled how stuck my mind is on making it work. I guess maybe I want to stick around for a bit longer. But this feeling of hopelessness is all consuming and strong.

I don't know what to do. I don't know who to turn to anymore, as the support services have heard it all before, so nothing they suggest helps. Not even my loved DBT skills help. How do you keep going when nothing helps, loved ones can't reach you, and it's just takes so long to feel any bit of right?

Re: **Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

i am so sorry you felt that way and im sorry that i was so ignorant to what was happening @Sans911 i am really sorry, will you forgive me? i would much rather you be honest with me than to feel left out and hurt.

i too have learnt so much from here, i dont think we ever stop learning. ever and really its the way that i like it but not at the expense of others so another lesson learnt today/last night.

i like what youve written about responding to others, and communcation too and how to acknowledge what others have said, continuing support but being able to step back too. im still having a real rough time in my own head and trying to talk i am still finding hard but i will try to be here the best i can and be more weary of tagging, and talking to others as well

love you too, and lots of lil sis hugs

@outlander You are really at the beginning of your journey with both MI and finding 'who you are'. The only way to navigate the foreign territory in regards to both of these things is by doing - and you are doing plenty Inevitably along this journey you will find things that do and don't work for you and you will have many rewarding moments and also make mistakes.

I have known you, here, for a year now, and throughout that year I have seen tremendous growth in you as a person - that is something to be really proud of - and as @Sans911 also said - shows incredible resilience.

I believe you are beginning to find more of a balance on here between what you can offer and being at the centre of all conversations - that is growth! You are more willing to 'step away' when support is already being given and accepted, your advice to others has shown a very high level of maturity at times and you are always willing to step in when others cannot. You have always taken on board what others have had to say to you with dignity and shown respect for others' thoughts. Sometimes we do need to 'step away' ourselves for our own self-care and you are learning to do that too.

This is a long journey you are on @outlander and not an easy one - but finding balance in all areas of your life will come - it is often when one things 'clicks' that all the others will fall into place - but you still have a really bumpy road to try to ride along and there will be spills along the way - don't lose heart as that is exactly what makes you so special - your kind heart.

There is a lot more I would like to say to you but I think letting that all rest with you for now is enough - if the only thing you take away from this post is my last point - your kind heart - then that is enough

@Sans911 thank you for your kind words also - means so very much - and I learn a lot from you too

And also.. i would much rather accept my mistakes, learn and move on than deny them and never take responsibility. 🙂
