Hi just wondering how to negotiate staying safe with an unwell son. I believe he may be manic he has created a debt, irritable and aggressive. Friends have commented to him that he is hyper and he commented himself on how he feels he is talking a lot. He likes the fact the meds have got him going ....fast but with it is snapping, anger and aggression. We attended a community health review following his week in hospital in which he presented well and despite my concerns were told to just go see psychiatrist who is currently away, for follow up. I am scared for my safety. I have had a drink sprayed around my car and me whilst driving. He has deliberately upended food and furniture on the floor, broken items and seems to think his behavior is warranted. When he us calm he agrees not to be this way but can't do it obviously when out of control.
Hey @WinterSun Thinking especially of you and your family today.

Tough losing both boys in 16 months. Who knows how long before the one with mh straightens out when he’s in denial and hating me.

@WinterSun It is tough, the heartache inexplicable and the grief overwhelming and oh so lonely.
Sitting with you, sending ever so tender thoughts your way.

Re: Staying Safe
Hi @Former-Member
Life moves on slowly. We have lots of questions, observations, hindsight and why, why, why ? Saw husbands psych dr who was shocked at the news. Speechless. Couldn’t fathom what had happened. Fixed thoughts and impulsiveness in young adult males is such an issue. Feelings change. Decision made on impulse catastrophic results. There was so much my son was passionate about and it’s hard to understand how he could leave behind those things let alone family and friends. We have had items delivered, that he ordered, music he loved and was so excited about. I remember clearly the day he ordered it months before. I don’t know how it’s possible to impact those who are unwell and take this action. Maybe they should spend time with those who have lost someone to suicide and see the devastating affect it has on those around them. Any person who takes their own life is one too many. All I know is I joined a club I never wanted to be a part of, family and friends of suicide.
