The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

@Phoenix_Rising good morning how are you? I am heading out to my beginners class soon and I am quite looking forward to it but it is a different instructor so I am nervous. I find it easier to go when my wife is with me cause I always worry that I am doing something wrong. Anyway have a great day 😊

Good morning @Ant7, I am plodding along nicely thank you.

Good luck at your class. I would definitely be feeling nervous too with a different instructor. My instructor is forever saying that there is no "wrong" way to do anything in her yoga classes. I try to remember that when I find myself facing left while the rest of the class is facing right or something.

I look forward to hearing all about your new class adventure. You've got this!

Hello @Phoenix_Rising

I have been doing the cobra and the upward dog. My 10 year old boy has been having a go with me. At school they call the cobra the snake so he is used to that pose.

I have found it is really helping me with my back pain.

Thank you for the brilliant suggestion.

Take care, MummaMia

Hi @Phoenix_Rising

I'm super impressed by that trophy...

I don't know how you even got my name on it. Must be some fancy photo shop thing or something?

Yes Dolphin I get confused over & have trouble with. I shall have to look it up.

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Phoenix_Rising I had a good class thanks. We did a pose that was very challenging but was good. It is an inverted pose that is a version of a sholder stand with your feet against a wall

Re: The great yoga adventure

Good morning everybody,

I was a dolphin yesterday, were you? I didn't make it to my class last night because my day took a nosedive and I had to shift to Operation Stay Alive for the evening. But that's ok. That was yesterday and today is today.

@Maggie remember, there are no rules around here about doing the pose of this particular week. Any yoga-ing is better than no yoga-ing...although no yoga-ing is totally ok too.

@Former-Member Ooooh we have another mini yogi! @Former-Member and @CheerBear have some mini yogis too. I agree that these poses (cobra, upward dog and dolphin) are super good for back pain. That is one of the reasons I'm into yoga, along with the mental health benefits.

@Adge I'm quite impressed by my effort on the trophy too. I'm only just starting to experiment with such things. I did it using microsoft paint.

@Shaz51 Did you manage to have a go at dolphin-ing?

@Ant7 I'm super glad you had a good class. I super enjoy being upside down.

Hello @Former-Member, I see that Maggie has tagged you into the great yoga adventure. Welcome.

Happy yoga-ing everybody.

@Phoenix_Rising I think inverted poses are my favourite 😊
