The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

Re: The great yoga adventure

I've just cobra-ed for the evening. 🙂 This seems like an interesting pose for the week.

Hello great yoga forum friends,

I cobra-ed last night, one of my favourite poses, especially to bend my back the opposite way to how I have been sitting all day in a chair!

We do this pose a lot in pilates and it is just called an 'Extension' - haha not very imaginitive

Re: The great yoga adventure

Very happy with the pose this week. I did some baby cobras last night! Hope to do a few more today and tomorrow 🙂

Once I'm all warmed up I enjoy doing the upward-facing dogs, so I'm preparing for next week too!

Re: The great yoga adventure

Hello yogis and yoginis from Chiang Mai (Nirthern Thailand @Adge) I cobra-ed in the local park yesterday. There is all manner of activity going on there. People rent out straw mats for 50 cents as the grass is often damp and sit, lay down or yoga on them.

I am still searching out a yoga studio and have found one close to here @Phoenix_Rising. I’m actually heading north west of here tomorrow but when I return I shall take in a class or two.

Good for you @Shaz51 in doing the pose of the week with us. My instructors keep reminding us that we spend too much time sitting in chairs hunched over computers.

Am seriously missing my sessions but other activities are keeping me occupied. Wonder if@frog has seen this little guy?

Re: The great yoga adventure

Good afternoon everybody,

I have cobra-ed today. This was a super good choice of pose @Adge. I definitely agree with @Former-Member that it is super helpful for sore backs.

Yay for cobra-ing @Adge @TheVorticon @Former-Member @Former-Member @Shaz51

I am super excited that you have appeared here @Former-Member. I just knew my nagging encouraging would pay off some time. This was me when I saw you here @Former-Member:

Happy cobra-ing everybody.

Ps. Can anybody say "cobra-ing" without giggling at how amazingly wrong that word sounds?

(This is my secret weapon to entice @CheerBear over here).

Unicorn 😮😍 - that'll do it!

I suppose I'd better learn how to cobra now @Phoenix_Rising 😉

Re: The great yoga adventure

I know my not-friend so well @CheerBear. I super hope that unicorn isn't TOO good at yoga such that he bends himself all the way over backwards - that horn looks kind-of sharp.

I love the cobra @Phoenix_Rising - so good for your back stretch! So need it ha ha!

Re: The great yoga adventure

Hello yoga adventurers ☺

I spent some time cobra-ing (clunky back-ing) today. It did feel good to stretch out my back, though I found holding the pose for a while surprisingly tricky on my arms. I will see if I can turn my fish into baby cobras this week 🙂

Re the unicorn @Phoenix_Rising - you do know me so well! Mr Unicorn should be ok up there - my horn didn't even come close when I tried it 😉
