The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

Re: The great yoga adventure

I catted-tabled-cowed during my class tonight @TheVorticon.

The reason I wasn't sure if the post tagged was because I'm trying to figure out how to make tags live when I draft a post in WordPad (and I think I failed). I think there is a whole lot of secret magic coding stuff that happens with the tagging. It is super frustrating because I can draft the post in WordPad but then need to go through and re-do all the tags to make them live.

@Shaz51 Well lucky for you, according to part 4, section 3.7, paragraph 8 of the constitution of our yoga group, physical illness is an acceptable reason for not yoga-ing.

Re: The great yoga adventure

That's good about your yoga class @Phoenix_Rising 🙂 Were there many people there tonight?

Yeah I saw your post about trying to copy-paste tags in. I tried out my minimal html knowledge on it with <a href="the link it's meant to go to">The words that are supposed to appear</a> but no dice.

e.g.<a href="">TheVorticon</a> clearly does not work. Even though that's what I would've thought is behind an @TheVorticon tag. Maaaybe I have to reference the CSS for it. Because even though I can see what it is, I'm not sure how to do that within the text editor.

(Ignore me, I'm being unhelpful while exploring every step of my unhelpfulness!)

Re: The great yoga adventure

@TheVorticon There were about a dozen people at my class tonight. It was really cool because my teacher very obviously made the class pretty much a review of some of the stuff we did in our private lesson. She had told me that she might do that.

It looks like you know more about code than I do. I tried doing the "explore element" (or something like that) thing that you can do on google but I couldn't figure it out. And anyway, my aim is to make it quicker...which it obviously isn't going to be if I need to write a huge amount of code every time I want to make a tag.

Re: The great yoga adventure

That's awesome that you and the teacher did a sneaky review of your private lesson content in the bigger class @Phoenix_Rising 🙂

Yep I used the "Inspect"/"explore element" thing too (although I've had some previous practice with that). In my subsequent minutes of googling, it seems that SANE uses a text editor called tinymce (which I initially read as "tinymice"... because why not?) which has a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get thingamijig. So it seems that we're not supposed to paste code and have it function. There do seem to be plugins that the admin could implement on their side to make things slightly more paste-friendly for formatting, but so far (in my extremely extensive 15 minutes of googling XD ) I haven't seen anything that jumps out as something that would allow direct tagging.

Re: The great yoga adventure

Hi @Phoenix_Rising I am still yoga-ing. Just a little bit in the mornings. I have to keep reminding myself that little bits count, otherwise I get discouraged and stop altogether. I can't keep up with all the incoming poses but today I bridged, chaired and dogged. And meditated. Does meditation fit here, or is there a separate thread for it?

Re: The great yoga adventure

Hi @Phoenix_Rising and everyone, no I didnt get the tag on the first post but I did on the second. 🙂

I have failed to make it to yoga class two weeks in a row. Will be trying again on Wednesday. Meanwhile I have been doing a fair amount of dream pose and an awkward variation on tree pose, after a shower, drying my toes.

I shall be back when there is more progress made. Happy posing evryone!

Re: The great yoga adventure

@TheVorticon Oh good, I'm glad it's not just me being clueless that meant I couldn't do it. We will have to ask @NikNik to tell the tiny mice to be open to getting more than they see.
