The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

I am nearly at the end of a Meditation Workshop held at my yoga studio @Adge @Phoenix_Rising and I feel that it has been more useful than the psych sessions I attended even without discussing my issues. And a lot cheaper too. The entire six week workshop was less than one hour with a psych.

I have chaired but only for a short duration today.

Thanks for sharing the iRest stuff with us @Adge. I'd also be interested if you wanted to add to forum yoga with some of the stuff you're working through.
That's cool that the workshop has been useful for you @soul 🙂

Well done for chairing or other-yogaing today @Shaz51, @Phoenix_Rising, @soul, @Adge, @Former-Member (and anyone else I've missed)

Hello @Phoenix_Rising

I have been out of the link as I have been down with the flu but I will give the chair pose a try later. I might try and get some of my kids involved too. The younger ones have been doing yoga at school so I am sure they can help me.

Take care, MummaMia

Re: l Re: The great yoga adventure

My legs aren't keen on chairing today because of a minor knee issue that I don't want to aggravate, so I've decided to be a child and a dreamer instead under the Substitute Poses clause in the forum yoga rulebook.

Re: l Re: The great yoga adventure

Substitutions are fine. Remember - everything is optional except breathing @TheVorticon

This afternoon I went to a Yin class. No chairing there so I chaired at home. Am holding the pose for longer and feel stronger for it.

Check out these sweet gals chairing like experts.

Hi @Shaz51

@soulI agree about the costs - an entire term (10 classes) of my yoga classes is $170. Slightly discounted for paying the whole term.

That's less than the cost of 1 psychologist appointment (for 10 classes)...

Thanks @TheVorticon

I've done several "Balancing chair" poses today, in class - doing chair (squat) whilst balancing on your toes (with your heels in the air).

Rather tricky...

Adge

Good morning everybody,

I am a little distracted at the moment with a rather big event that is happening in my world today. However, I will reappear here sometime over the next few days. Maybe talk amongst yourselves and decide what pose we want to do next week. Be good and don't get into mischief {Phoenix_Rising says while staring at @TheVorticon in particular}!

Re: sRe: l Re: The great yoga adventure

No problems @Phoenix_Rising. Take the time you need. Be gentle with yourself. I was thinking that after chairing this week, maybe we could do table top but throw in some cat and cow poses to keep it interesting. What do you reckon?

That @TheVorticon is a cheeky one.
