The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

@Phoenix_Rising its definately a good idea. How about a shoulder stand?

Re: The great yoga adventure

Well the corpse pose (yes sounds a bit morbid) is called Shavasana - that's it's real (sanskrit) yoga name.

So maybe we can just call it that, as long as everyone knows what we mean.

It's actually about my favourite.

My yoga teacher said that doing Shavasana (& relaxation) at the end of class, was the only thing that kept her going to yoga. It's sort of the same for me...

Thanks @Phoenix_Rising & thanks @soul for your understanding about my cat Minx.

Re: The great yoga adventure

@TheVorticon bridging under the chocolate bridge sounds like a plan!

@Former-Member we were talking about doing shoulder stand last week - apparently it's @Adge's favourite pose. Maybe we should do the as-yet-unnamed pose next week to get some of those slacker yogis back here and then shoulder pose the week after???

@Former-Member We did pigeon pose a few weeks ago so yes, pigeoning is acceptable...so long as the pigeon stays away from the bridges - I know what pigeons tend to do on bridges. When you say you pigeoned, did you do that in the helpcentre???

Chocolate as an incentive, yum...

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Shaz51 @Phoenix_Rising and anyone else, can you give me a quick run down of The Great Yoga Adventure? What I've got so far is that we get a new yoga pose each week and practice it together. This week is the bridge? I'm a beginner yogi and loving my classes so far, still wrapping my head around all of the different poses and techinal terms! Namaste
