The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

By the way @Former-Member, I mentioned to @Former-Member a little while ago that she should do bridge pose in the helpcentre and that no-one would notice. Since you're there too, you can both do it. Go on...please...that would be very good role-modelling of self-care for the Forumites of Forum Land.

I think this is the best idea @Former-Member 😄 I will definitely dedicate plenty of time to this if this is our pose for the week!

I have the best images in my head of you and the other helpcentre people yoga-ing, floating on floaties, (now swinging off fans) etc!

I was thinking the same thing with that one too @Phoenix_Rising, which is kind of why my go to was fetal pose just before. I will look forward to hearing what it is that it's renamed for here (I'm sure it will be a great one)

@soul yes, maybe that is the solution, to just call it savasana. That would mean we would be savasana-ing. I'm glad I'm typing that rather than trying to actually say it.

@Adge suggested a food incentive. I guess we could offer this as a reward for those who do some bridging this week.

@CheerBear Giggle. So...what I'm hearing is that you aren't actually going to help figure out a name, you're just going to sit back and wait to see what the proverbial "we" come up with. No no, it's fine, let the turtle do all the work. You just sit there and relax...

Busted! And I thought I was being subtle @Phoenix_Rising 😛

I like both of @soul 's suggestions 🙂 I also really like that there's chocolate on offer for bridging and that I bridged even before I knew it was there.

I hope you enjoy your yoga retreat @Adge and find it really good for you. And I too am very sorry to hear you had to say goodbye to Minx.

I am also sorry to hear about the passing of your cat @Adge...they never quite understand how much they mean to us. I am thinking of you in this difficult time.

Haha you never know where I'm hiding @Phoenix_Rising, I like the element of surprise

The first thing that came to my mind @Phoenix_Rising, was 'dead fish' pose...because this was the pose we used to do at school when we played dead fish, however I'm not sure that's entirely appropriate either. I need some thinking time!

I think we are all well practiced at it @soul so it should fit in seamlessly

@Former-Member Here is some thinking music to go with your thinking time...

Re: The great yoga adventure

I havent bridged by I have pidgeoned. Does that count?

Re: The great yoga adventure

I bridged yesterday @Phoenix_Rising and I would've liked a bridge with some cars to bridge over me 😛

However, now that there is a chocolate bridge, perhaps I can bridge underneath that and start eating it at the same time!

Re: The great yoga adventure

How good an incentive would this be for Bridging @Phoenix_Rising?
