The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

Hi @soul and everyone on a yoga adventure 🙂

I folded myself in a bridge today again, and this time was able to spend ages in shoulder stand! I'm very proud to have been a bridge for 5 days straight, even if bridge was for seconds before I turned into something that definitely is not a bridge.

Just wanted to share and say thanks for the bridge week. I've enjoyed it almost as much as tree week 🙂

Yep, that's pretty much it @Former-Member. Sometimes there are special incentives to keep yogis motivated and encourage them to perform the pose of the week.

I went to the Friday night Candlelight Flow class. Only five students but I was disappointed that the real candles weren't used tonight, just the battery operated ones.

It was a very nice session though and we did do the Bridge Pose.

Hope your Bridge wasn't like this @CheerBear

Re: The great yoga adventure

So who has Bridged today? The good thing about going to yoga classes every day is that there is a good possibility that I will do the pose of the week without even having to think about it. And yes, we bridged.

I got there a bit early so I had ten minutes of resting before the action began. I could have easily fallen asleep.

It was a Yang to Yin class so it started off quite actively and then slowed down to more static longer held poses. Since it is the Spring Soltice (where all around the world the day is approximately the same length as the night) our instructor said it was all about balance and she led the session accordingly.

Re: The great yoga adventure

I spent enough time flopped out on the floor yesterday to bridge twice. 👍

Looking on the bright side there @TheVorticon 😉

I plowed again yesterday. I'm don't think 5 seconds of being a bridge so I can move into shoulder stand or plow is really 'being a bridge' but maybe it still counts.

Re: The great yoga adventure

Actually I'd say it totally counts @CheerBear. It's like one of the bridges that open to let boats through
