The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

Re: The great yoga adventure

Good evening everybody, I have eagled today, did you?

@TheVorticon that is super random that someone mentioned eagle pose to you today. Methinks it is a sign that perhaps it's time to consider a real-world yoga class. Maybe? Perhaps? Possibly?

Here is your baby goat for the day. I totally hear you about baby goats taking over the living room. You should see my living room! This baby goat idea of @Former-Member's definitely fits into the seemed-like-a-good-idea-at-the-time bucket.

Well done for eagling today @Shaz51. Here is your baby goat. I hope he settles in well with your other two.

Re: The great yoga adventure

I love those baby goat pictures. Can I have one?

Maybe I haven't earned one yet...

I did the eagle pose in yoga class yesterday afternoon, & promptly fell over (whilst doing it).

It's the balancing on one leg bit that always gets me really wobbly...

Re: The great yoga adventure

I usually modify my eagle pose @Adge and put the toes of my other foot on the ground to steady me. It also helps if you focus on a spot ahead of you. Aren't those baby goats the cutest litttle creatures you ever saw?

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Shaz51 Yay for the eagle! Well done even though my mind is imaging all sorts of images of an eagle pose. But am I right in that you have yours arms outstretched, half bent like wings? And the feet? Don't you need the tree hehe! Careful, my mind goes to odd places. You should have read my airport post to @Zoe7 and yesterday on her thread about how I ensign these posts being moderated like an airport control room. Even I was amazed by my imagination!

Re: The great yoga adventure

Good on you @Maggie. I am going to do a modified eagle tonight. Just had four glasses of wine. Hadn't touched alcohol for a couple of months. So I will Eagle laying down so I don't fall over.

Tomorrow will be better. I will soar again. Right now - not so good. Probably don't deserve a baby goat. But my pooch is with me. Bless her. She hasn't given up on me.

Re: The great yoga adventure

Good evening everybody, I have eagled today, have you?

@soul we must have been posting at the same time last night because I can see that I owe you a baby goat for eagling yesterday. I chose this one for you because he is already super used to dogs.

Then for today @soul, since you did a notably modified eagle, I figured you could have this extra special modified baby goat.

@Adge, you can most definitely have a baby goat for eagling in your yoga class. I am an extremely wobbly eagle too! The baby goat promotion will continue until tomorrow so if you happen to find a moment to be an eagle tonight and tomorrow, you could add another two baby goats to your collection.

@Sans911 You don't need to worry about where all these eagles are landing. The tree pose was the very first one we did quite a few weeks ago. We made a forest in Forum Land. This is how you eagle: https://www.doyogawithme.com/content/eagle-pose or if that seems a bit too tricky, you can try being a baby eagle: https://www.doyogawithme.com/content/eagle-pose-arms-only-garudasana. You are extremely welcome to join in.

@Maggie, Hooray for eagling. Here is your baby goat. This one comes with a complimentary baby duckling because I am so super excited that you had a go at eagling. Our yoga week starts on Mondays, so there is still time to get another baby goat tomorrow.

Hmmm...I wonder where @Shaz51 and @TheVorticon are. I super hope TheVortican isn't going to end up with an incomplete set of the seven dwarfs.

See you tomorrow for the very last day of the baby goat give-away!!!

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Pheonix_Rising I might have to get into this yoga adventure & start treeing and and eagle posing. I really super duper want a baby goat 🐐 or a collection of them. I have lots of Green stuff for then to munch thanks to our wet winter.

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Pheonix_Rising - wow, I just looked at that link, thanks. And I tried the Eagle pose, but I have arthritis in both my shoulders, left one worse this week. So it was super hard to do, and I didn't get it quite right. I'll accept I don't get a baby 🐐, but do I at least get an E for effort?
