Good evening everyone,
So...funny story. I feel super self-conscious in my yoga class because I seem to be so bendy. The teacher is constantly reminding people not to push themselves too hard or judge themselves for not being able to do a pose while I'm pretty much curled up like a pretzel. Anyway, so after class tonight I asked her if I was cheating or something because I kept being able to do things that she was telling people it is totally ok to not be able to do. And the verdict is...apparently my level of flexibility is highly unusual and...my teacher thinks I should explore doing some advanced classes.
Somehow it seems hilarious to me that I've spent my whole life being told I'm "too rigid" and it turns out that what I lack in cognitive flexibility, I more than make up for with physical flexibility.
Next time someone tells me I'm "too rigid" I'm going to stand on my head and be like "yeah, well can you do this?"
Hey...you know how a lot of job advertisements ask for the soft skill of being flexible? They never actually specify that it is cognitive flexibility that they are looking for. Maybe I shouldn't let that criteria hold me back. I could be like "no, I don't do changes in routine, , unexpected events or multi-tasking...but I can stand on my head - that takes flexibility."
Sadly, we didn't do mountain pose or happy baby pose in class tonight...and now I'm too sleepy. Oh well, I will definitely be a happy baby mountain tomorrow.
@Maggie I am super excited that you are planning to be a mountain. I think we need a mountain range in Forum Land.
Hey @Ant7 I think I forgot to tag you this morning. This week we are doing happy baby and mountain pose.
It sounds like you had a good class tonight @soul. Chanting wouldn't be my thing either!
How was your class today @CheerBear?
