Something’s not right

-Enigma-

-Enigma-

I have given up now - no one can say it was not without a fight. But then no one on heaven and earth would give a damn anyway. I gave from the heart and it was a joy to help others. I felt such peace with that. I never did it for anything in return ever, I did it because I truly cared and felt so much genuine compassion towards others. I was promised dreams and peace would come true even though I never asked. It felt so good to know I made someone's lives a bit better.

Why is it that people like me are then faced with so much heartache, injustice, trauma and adversity that seeks to do everything in its power to destroy that good, to take the little good and peace I had, to utterly destroy me. Why?

I had always been there when possible others times of need - now that I truly need someone I have been all but abandoned by those I knew and those in the spirit. I realise now everything was a lie and feel utterless helpless and lost. I have lost everything and don't see the point in being here. I hope I don't wake up to another day of despair.

Re: -Enigma-

I am not sure @outlander - I will check through my photo album online. I think I may have some on my old PC. Will see if I can transfer and post them later.

It is the repetiveness of mundane duties that gets to me too @outlander - I tend to love creativity (writing, cross stitch etc) and anything that take some me away from that is painful. But nessecary - and I do feel a sense of accomplishment when I have finished.

Good to read that you can do more with your hand - a good sign. That is how my foot healed - very slowly (which can be frustrating). Hope all goes well with your appt - keep us updated. Can be scared but your facing it which ultimately will lessen that fear and you will be better off for it I suppose I better get back into the grind Housework is calling xx

Re: -Enigma-

that would be great but no biggie @-engima- i just like to admire peoples gardens esp when they have so much pride and joy in them.

i quite like doing my art and when i can studies too to help with the repetiveness. ive recently started reading books again, jsut some light reading but i wasnt able to do that before.

ill keep you updated, can be up to 6 months wait even for a consult though. i have my wisdom teeth coming through and they need taking out (possible another tooth at the same time) and they are giving me sooo much grief and pain and in october have to go get another one taken out as it recently broke and had an abcess- just finished antibiotics for that. soo much happening.

Im glad your foot has healed, it is frustrating when we cant do alot cause of an injury. looks like it healed in time too as your about to get super busy lol.

enjoy your housework 😉

Re: -Enigma-

A tooth abscess is very painful indeed - not good. Hopefully all will settle for you soon. I had all my wisdom teeth out by a top dentist in the city. It was done in his surgery. I never felt nothing.....depends on the dentist and how long the roots are etc. But admittedly I am not fond of dentistry.

Yes, I am busy and can become overwhelmed. The repetiveness is starting to get to me. But the house should sell soon and once we move; after the intital adjustment hopefully it will open the door to a new and better journey. This is my dream I have been waiting so long for so I shouldn't whinge lol.

Great to hear that yiu have started to read again - well done. It really relaxes the mind 💞

Re: -Enigma-

admittedly this is my first dental appt, i have been avoiding it for so long but this time it was and is neccessary. the abcess has healed but toothpain doesnt just dissapear for these sorts. The dentist i seen said i need to see a dental surgeon to remove them up in the hospital. when i get to speaking to them ill be asking them to put me under, i really dont cope well with those sorts of things. she aslo said im a relativly high risk for complications because of my sinus issues as well. there are 2 that are still pretty high up in the jaw bone so i worry aboutt hem haveing to scrape around in there. thats nothing i want to hear lol.

whinge away, i dont mind. your also going through a really rough patch too. in a way i guess its keeping you busy, you have an end goal and itll be worth it 🙂
im sure the time will go quickly once your house sells 🙂 @Former-Member

Re: -Enigma-

Hi @Former-Member and thanks for your lovely post. Its good to hear how things are going for you. And that its mostly good. Hello to all the others who support you so ably here as well. @outlander @Appleblossom @NatalieS @Adge @oceangirl etc. Hope you are all okay.

Sorry I havent been around much this past week or more. Been very busy with hubby's needs mainly. And then this week I have crashed physically. My long term back injury is back to plague me. I've been playing with fire for the past 6 months or so, just willing it to hold in there through hubbys many illnesses and hospitalisations. Until now, its played the game. But 2 days ago, it decided that enough was enough. And I crashed out big time. Nerve pain has been increasing over the past couple of weeks, but I have been essentially getting through it as best I can, but being very careful not to exacerbate things. But a long drive for hubbys Navy reunion on the weekend seems to have tipped things over the edge.

Wednesday morning I was at the kitchen bench preparing breaky and, without doing anything, it was like my back just creaked and crunched and gave out. Must be getting old? Now I cannot move a muscle without going into extremely painful back spasms. I have unstable lower back discs, which have plainly gone astray again. This tends to happen on average once or twice a year. For now though I am having lots of difficulty getting around, am in constant pain, and when the spasms hit, I cannot move at all. I tried to get out of bed this morning and screamed in agony. Unable to get out of bed, unable to get back into bed, seized up completely. Took half an hour of trying to roll out of bed onto the floor without moving back or leg muscles. And then another 15mins or so to try to will the body to relax long enough to stop the spasms to enable me to finally stand up. Very painful I can tell you. Once up and walking, I can get around, but slowly and painfully. And of course I cannot get in to see my physio! I'm now on cancellation list with my regular one plus an additional one. Fingers crossed something comes up, as I must remain mobile. Hubby needs me, as I'm the only driver right now and he has many medical appointments. I also need to do grocery shopping, but cant right now. Hoping the freezer and canned food holds out until I can manage to do shopping.

Gee, arent I a misery guts? So sorry, last thing you all need. Its just the when this happens to me and I am in a lot of pain and feel totally useless and hopeless, I also plummet dramatically and become very depressed and miserable. Okay I need to go rest. Hopefully I will be able to drag myself up again afterwards.

Re: -Enigma-

Hello @Former-Member - no my dear friend, you are not a misery guts - back pain can be unbearable!!!! You won't believe this - I have just taken some anti- inflammatories and pain killers as I have overdone it with all the cleaning and did my back in this afternoon. The pain can be distressing. I can't walk properly or bend presently - I so sympathise with you. The pain is terrible and disabling.

You will need to take it easier for a bit. Is it possible to get some assistance with caring for your hubby and maintenance on your acres? Having lived on the latter in the past I know it can be a lot of work (but I did love it). Is it possible to order some groceries from Coles to have delivered, just until your back on your feet? There is no way I can drive when my back is like this, or push a trolley. I feel for you.

Please never feel your posts are too much - I encourage them. That's what we are here for, to support each other. I just wish I could do more.

My husband has bone on bone lower back pain - he ended up having a epidural block performed by guided ultrasound and it worked well for him. He had to do nothing for about 3 to 4 days afterwards to give the injection a chance to work, otherwise pushing too soon can reduce its effects. He doesn't want surgery because of the things that could possibly go wrong (same with his neck). But I had a friend whom did have back surgery and it gave her a new lease on life - it depends how bad and who does the surgery I think.

I hope you can get to see your physio soon for some relief - she may have some further suggestions and advise on what to do and not to do to prevent another painful episode. It really is terrible when anything goes wrong with the back!

My back problems are a bit different to yours - to my knowledge mine is caused from low Vitamin D (osteo malacia), and the bad habits I got into with sitting too long doing embroidery and writing etc and my back muscle became weak. Quite the opposite to the cause of your back pain. Now if I try and do too much it goes on me and I can't afford this. So I have been advised to exercise more - particularly pool areobics, to help strengthen my back. At the moment I can't do much and have to work up to this gradually. So hard with all the work I need to do with the house for the upcoming photo pics and open day. But we will work it out somehow. Not only painful but frustrating isn't it?

I hope you can cut back on some of your activities for a bit - try not to over do it @Former-Member. Utilise any help mentioned above that you can and self nurture for abit. I worry about you. I hope my post has helped - please keep me updated with your progress. I will check on you tomorrow. Thinking of you my friend and sending a warm hug xxxxxx

Re: -Enigma-

Oh @outlander - this is why I don't like to know all that entails in dentistry work. It does invoke anxiety. I can understand you wanting to be put under anesthetics - anxiety can be so distressing. I believe I coped because the dentist in those days just did it without explaining the procedure. These days they have to for legal reasons - I would rather not know sometimes. Did not know that about the sinus issues - I can get that at times with the seasons.

I am sure you will be in good hands with a surgeon. Lots of pain relief afterwards and self care will see you back on your feet soon after. I hope you will have someone to help and look after you at that time xxxx 💞

Re: -Enigma-

@Former-Member i reakon, i was going alright till she started explaining things. all well has to be done. im trying to think of it as short term pain for long term gain....
the tooth getting taken out in october is linked in well with the sinuses and with already sensitive sinuses/nerves makes it more likley but might not. just have to go with the flow for now. i dont know much else though until i hear from the team. i will actually be going to sydney whenever the consult/op is pretty far for me but apparently they are really good and in my local area its a 2-3 yr wait for wisdom teeth removal. i need it earlier than that unfortunatly. atm it is a waiting game and managing any infections and pain with the appropriate meds till im at the top of the list (as with everything else lol) then the ball will ger rolling. anyways im sure itll be fine, thanks for caring

did you finish your cleaning?

oh my goodness! @Former-Member you poor bugger! i cant imagine the pain your in, i really hope you can see your physio soon!! do you have some help at home for your husband? Hugs

Just a quick call out to @Former-Member - how is your back today? Any improvement? Totally understand if you are too busy to reply; thinking of you hoping today is a little better. Sending warm wishes and a hug 🤗💞

Hi @outlander - unfortunately still have more to do to get the house to a standard I am happy with. Had to cut it a bit short yesterday as my back gave out too. It feels good again at the moment. I drive myself bonky getting everything perfect for this photo shot. Imagine the open days 😫
