Hey Life - give me a break.

Hey Life - give me a break.

@PeppiPatty - regarding my story - it probably warrants a thread of its own. Really needing my friends@Shaz51@Faith-and-Hope@Determined@Former-Member@Former-Member@Anony18@outlander@Former-Member @PhoenixRising @Former-Member

Sexually assaulted at age 13. Have never told my family.

Went to uni and moved away afterwards for work so fully independent then.

Came back to my home town after a couple of years.

Had a couple of serious relationships and ended up marrying a narcissist used car dealer (say no more) Basically raised my kids by myself. At 40, he had a fling with a married 19year old who already had a two year old child. He fathered a child with her and I found out some time later when I discovered he was paying child support payments. Stayed in this loveless marriage until the kids had finished school, then divorced which was nasty and I suffered financially big time. Had loaned his business money but didn't have anything legal drawn up. He also moved a lot of money around and had an overdraft on our home.

Got into a relationship with someone who was actually interested in me and shared common interests. It was the best and worst time of my life. He fits all the criteria of BPD. Moved interstate to be with him. The relationship became volatile and he physically assaulted me. This is when I became involved with this Forum. On one occasion, a neighbour called the police and he was arrested. They saw my injuries, he admitted guilt and he was imprisoned. I stood by him all during his incarceration, funding an appeal and he was released after eight months only to be deported as he wasn't an Australian citizen. I joined up with him overseas but the assaults continued. He got sporadic help for his MI but wasn't committed to getting better.

Eventually after yet another particularly bad assault and having the police involved, I returned to Australia and that was four and a half months ago. He appears to be serious about managing his condition now, taking medication, going to support and counselling sessions and hopes that I will return. However, all trust has been obliterated. We still have contact and that can get traumatic at times.

I started off on the Carers' side but find myself on the Lived Experience team as well. I have been having sessions with a psychologist.

Thrown into the mix is my own family. They don't know what I have been through. I used to care for my father and mother, used all my holiday and long service leave, taking time off work and eventually quitting so I could be there for them. Two of my siblings also live nearby but they were more concerned about building wealth than our parents' wellbeing so it was left to me. My father passed away and when I left to be with my partner, my mother's care was transferred to them. I feel they resented my decision but for the first time in my life I felt I was entitled to pursue happiness (not that it turned out that way) The sibs shut me out and when Mum passed away recently things went from bad to worse and as Executors of her will they scattered her ashes when and where they wanted without telling me and are responsible for distributing her estate however they see fit. There was no funeral or memorial service.

I live with my daughter and my son lives with his father. I love my kids with all my heart and live for them. I have a dog (actually my daughter's) who is my constant companion. I do a lot of walking and listening to music to escape the depressing thoughts I feel. I have no idea what to do with my life now and think it's all a cruel joke.

Hi @souln I can so relate to what you said. It's so hard to tell your real story. As people probably won't believe it. I don't tell anyone at work my story. I listen to their struggles. And I think boy if only you knew. But at the same time i like just being me. Nobody knows my whole story there. Just what bits I've told them

I had a lovely dream about my mother last night. She was walking down an aisle at a hospital wearing a flowing gown; her hair was longer and pale purple like one of those rinses old women used to have. She was more solidly built. She approached me and we gave each other the most beautiful hug. It was such a strong and close embrace. No words were spoken. It left me feeling calm.

Re: Hey Life - give me a break.

Went for a long walk this morning - 14kms. I needed to start the day with some calmness @Shaz51@Determined@Lostatsea@outlander@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member@Zoe7@Former-Member@Former-Member

This morning my children are going to the park where my mother's ashes were scattered. This "event" was organised by the daughter of my "evil" sister - only for the cousins (eight of the nine are attending). Nice that they should get together especially since the only time this has happened in the past six years or so was at the hospital recently. My daughter was apprehensive about going, knowing how we have been ostracised but agreed to in the end. Her boyfriend even offered to accompany her but the niece had stipulated that partners who knew Oma were invited and he didn't meet the criteria.

The get together had been postponed so more people could attend. I commented to my niece via messenger at the time that it was a nice idea of hers and she was quick to point out that her mother (my sister) and my brother wouldn't be attending so I had not been singled out. She then went on to say that she couldn't care less whatever is going on between me and my sister and as far as she is concerned her mother is a saint. The thing is at the time of the original event, my sister was going to be away overseas on a holiday anyway. So this "memorial" occasion today and the one where the ashes were scattered both excluded me.

Having my sister message me that "Mum didn't say we had to be part of your life" pretty much sums up her family's attitude and I was amazed that my children were even invited to the park. I hope they have a good time. I know they will feel comfortable around my older brother's kids but my sister's kids have had nothing to do with them for many years and bearly acknowledged their existence at past family gatherings.

On the plus side, my children are coming back here for lunch and I am looking forward to that. I hope that the three of us will be able to go to that park together soon. It seems so difficult to co-ordinate common times when the two of them are available.

I had my personal time at the site last week so I am grateful for that too.

Furthermore, I got in contact with a specialist wills and estate lawyer and my brother has no legal standing whatsoever if he thinks that as executor he can divide Mum's estate however he wants. Even if the will doesn't stipulate the word "equal" shares, in the absence of specific instructions, the court assumes that it will be done that way. So I hope he doesn't go ahead with his bullying as I don't really want a legal battle on my hands.

Wish I could say I had a 14 km walk this morning soul, something the old me would had said, just about to go now,or try to as I haven't been since Tuesday and feel awful, the legs and mind feel better with it,I need to go for both badly.

Your situation very much I can relate to ,got two sisters I don't talk to .One lives,25 minutes away, last time she made the effort was mother's day.Long story. My mother nearly died last year and my nieces and her excluded me from hospital .I get so angry at the disrespect I had and now don't speak to my niece. There is no way I was allowed to speak or have no respect to my aunt's in that way.My sister is one that used my parents for money and we raised these nieces when they were babies for several years.I fear the day my mother passes, stressed I will be homeless, sacrificed a lot ,care for her,and know I will be treated the same I was treated last year.I can't handle it and I just have to let them have it.They want the glory without doing the work, they think they are entitled,I think I am nothing.Of all the people at that park today, similar to my nieces in their early twenties with their attitudes you had every right to be at that park or your mother's ashes should've been divided up for your own time.Im glad you are having your own thing.

My other sister is probably like your brother, eldest and favorite of the family, who thinks they know it all.I agree,he can't use his power other than to obide by and ensure the wishes of your mother is carried out.At the end of the day it's pathetic behavior by someone with a ego.

@soul
I hope things in the will can be resolved without too much trouble, otherwise the estate gets swallowed up in legal costs.
