Re: What`s your favourite TV Shows

Ah, now I see! @Snowie I used to watch that myself. Is it still going, or is it in repeat? Or perhaps recorded?

@Queenie I couldn't believe it when I saw that Roseanne was coming back to tv, and with most of the original cast too. I did watch it for some time with the kids, but when they started behaving in the same way I banned it.
Same with Home and Away, when they insisted on copying the bad behaviour without apology, even after discussion (lots of life discussion in my house) then gone it was.

I did enjoy most A Country Practice for the most part too. Some excellent teaching moments and, unlike much of what is shown nowadays, A Country Practice was written to be an educational / instructional style of viewing. Studied it and a couple of other shows at Uni, gosh that was an interesting set of subjects. Those courses changed the way I viewed anything from then on. I think for the better.

Recently watched Alias Grace on Netfix and am now reading the book. I love the accent the female actress (Sarah Gadon) uses, but don't know what it is. Aisling Franciosi has the same accent in her role as Katie Benedetto in The Fall.

Endeavour would be one of my all time favourites @Bunniekins I so enjoyed his 'good cop style' in Morse, and the story of his early life did not disappoint either.

Haven't seen any Alana Bloom or Caroline Dhavernas @LadyleahRDBloom however I am something of a Mads Mikkelson fan in his Danish, German and Swedish language roles - One in particular 'Dark', was an intriguing glimpse at potential time travel situations. Sci Fi, Drama, Mystery.

MKR can be interesting too, the nastiness gets to me sometimes, but I do learn new cooking techniques at times.

@Former-Member We all used to sit down and watch A Country Practise (at the beginning towards the middle). So sad when Molly died ... I loved the Inspector Morse shows too. Such well acted and produced programs.

Hi @Bunniekins Hi @Shaz51 Hi @Queenie

I just popped pst the forum see what was happening and saw this thread on the main page.

I love watching documentaries, but the favorite shows recently are

Unforgotten (TV series 2 done 1 to come later in he year) with Nicola Walker amazing acstress.

Loved Downtown Abbey - in fact bought the box set for christmas present for ourselves a few years ago and it is a christmas hol. tradition now to watch it day in day out all 6 series and the christmas specials. I LOVE Edith and always get cross at how badly everyone treats her!

Watched Howard's End the past few weeks, it doid my head in! They seemed to jump years between scenes and I had no clue in a scene how long it was since the last scene. It was cryptic!

Love Vera. Started watching he Aussie drama Harrow a few weeks ago, its interesting.

Loved Endeavour (early retro look at Inspector Morse) the first series was good, but it got a bit silly in subsequent series.

Also liked Prime Suspect 1973 (another retro).

Okay I have rabbitted on enough - waves to you all.

Re: What`s your favourite TV Shows

Unforgotten is/ was brilliant @MoonGal, Nicola Walker is an excellent actress imo, have you also seen her in River? Loved it.

Downton Abbey, yes, also loved it. Edith certainly was underappreciated by the family. Prime suspect too. *nods*

I also thoroughly enjoyed A Place to Call Home, simply love Noni Hazelhurst too.

I'm not one to rewatch anything, or reread books either, which is something of a shame, as I'd have sooo much more to watch if I did.

Hah, just remembered Rosemary and Thyme - that's was a lovely series too. So many, this is really reminiscing here.
