Caring for a wife with Borderline Personality Disorder- Sequel to Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family.

This discussion is a follow on from my previous thread Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family, a thread I started when my wife was admitted to hospital for the third time in 6 months and when everything around me seemed to be falling apart. It was a space where I could vent and express my emotions and helped me to process a particularly difficult time not only in my own life but for our family and helped me to hold myself together in order to support my family. For that I am most grateful.

Those of you who were following our journey will know that on my darlings return home I have been encouraged by my councillor to implement some loving boundaries, (lovingly implemented guidelines, not as rules to be enforced), and some self-care for myself.

Now that my darling is home the purpose of this new thread is to document our journey of healing and implementing new boundaries and commitment to self-care, not only so that I can have a visual plan for myself (a bit of self-accountability to follow through with plans in place) but in the hope that it may help others processing similar trials. It will also be an opportunity to track our progress over time.

Love it @soul recon this burrito is busting at the seams though.

Tried watching some fishing on the tele this ave but fell asleep on the couch. Does that count as self care 😊

In the absence of anything more substantial it may have to but I think you can do better than that @Determined

Hello @Determined. Have been going through your posts this afternoon and i must say your family is blessed with a breadwinner and caretaker so determined as you are. May all the responsibilities and goodwill that you have shouldered... somehow or rather bounce back to you and what you have given all these while...you will get back more. May you be blessed with strength, mindfulness and endurance in wading through these tests and things will be better in time as life cycles its turns. Take care..

Adek.

Im a little concerned at the moment, most likley over thinking things but hard not to at the moment. Darling went to the gp this afternoon to ask about blood tests for a possible infection. Doc doing blood tests but thinks there may be more to it so she has to go back later in the week to discuss blood test results and additional checks. Thankfully darling completly missed the docs comment and is just going along with it blissfully unaware, she dosent need the extra worry right now 😕

Hmmm - that sounds puzzling. More to it?? Hopefully the blood tests will reveal what's going on @Determined.

Is everything else okay? How's uni going?

Madly trying to catch up with Uni @soul

Had another extension granted this afternoon for a group presentation, that was a relief as no way we would have been prepared for next Monday. Have a study break coming up so will be making the most of the opportunity to catch up over the break.

Got any plans for the school holidays? Hope you get some time to yourself and to do that catching up @Determined.

Mostly just catching up @soul, possibly a day trip away so boys can see their cousins. May just send them with inlaws so I can get some work done though. Hard to take time out when I am so far behind.

Have 2 days set aside for group work and 1 for staff training that only allows for 2 days of catch up work and individual assessment. Next 7 weeks going to be full on if I am going to do any good with results.
