Caring for a wife with Borderline Personality Disorder- Sequel to Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family.

This discussion is a follow on from my previous thread Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family, a thread I started when my wife was admitted to hospital for the third time in 6 months and when everything around me seemed to be falling apart. It was a space where I could vent and express my emotions and helped me to process a particularly difficult time not only in my own life but for our family and helped me to hold myself together in order to support my family. For that I am most grateful.

Those of you who were following our journey will know that on my darlings return home I have been encouraged by my councillor to implement some loving boundaries, (lovingly implemented guidelines, not as rules to be enforced), and some self-care for myself.

Now that my darling is home the purpose of this new thread is to document our journey of healing and implementing new boundaries and commitment to self-care, not only so that I can have a visual plan for myself (a bit of self-accountability to follow through with plans in place) but in the hope that it may help others processing similar trials. It will also be an opportunity to track our progress over time.

Sorry about my little rant last night.... has been a long week and it all got a bit much

Spoke to HOD at S1's current school yesterday afternoon, Special school enrolment panel meets this morning to go over enrolment applications, we should know by the end of next week if our application is successful or not. In the mean time I have to get applications in to 2 other schools by the end of this week.

The school in our catchment is not at all suitable for him (curriculum wise) so need to ask for special consideration from the other school. Getting good support from his current school in this regard.

Hope it all comes together for you @Determined.

And if you need to rant - this is THE place to do it. No need to apologise.

Well that was a disaster
At least I was not the only one. 4 /5 of us walked out of the exam looking like we wanted to vomit lol

Yikes @Determined - what was the weighting for the exam? Still opportunity to bring your marks up?

Re: Caring for a wife with Borderline Personality Disorder- Sequel to Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family.

25% weighting on the exam @soul. I recon I'm good for 5 or 10 out of 25.
Have a group presentation in a couple of weeks worth 25% then a report worth 50%. Due in 6 weeks.

Forward estimate going by marking criteria recon I am looking at 65 to 70% overall at the end of the semester ☹
Always the chance I have been too hard on myself with todays effort but not getting my hopes up.

Had some posirive feedback from the enrollment panel for S1 to attend special school today. Still won't know until the end of next week if he has been accepted or not but at least he has not been rejected straight up.

Still a huge leap accepting that special school is a real option or even necessary but having to trust the advice we have been given.
