Seeing doctors when you don't leave the flat?

Seeing doctors when you don't leave the flat?

I hardly leave my flat due to bipolar depression, social anxiety and crohn's disease, all of which I've been dealing with for decades. Over time it's been getting harder and harder for me to get out to even see doctors. I haven't seen my psych doctor for over 6 months because of this and my meds are running out. No matter how much I tell myself I 'have to' go to the doctors, days, weeks and months go by and I just don't get myself to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do in this situation? I was thinking of calling one of those 24 hour mobile doctor companies. Not ideal but better than no doctor I guess? Interested to hear if there are any other suggestions.

Sounds like you have a decent therapist. @PeppiPatty Start up a journalling thread then we can know where to go.

Its still hard to generalise because for some people it is life saving to see a GOOD THERAPIST.

Hope you got a good one @Mazarita Get him to cough up strategies.

@Jacquesis so smart he just bypassed the whole process.

Kinesiology is all right .. bit full of generalities .. that I could get from any tarot pack or BASIC astrology book and I am science nerd remember

Body work of some kind is essential .. that might be what is missing in DBT

I lived with my Dutch grandparents for a while and opa loved to brag about his escape from the labour camp, then pulling the woolover the Germans' eyes when hitching a lift in a German lorry across Holland all the way to his village outside of Rotterdam with 5 mins to walk to the front door.. etc etc I'd brag about that too .. god knows how much of a tall stroy that was though.

And the bloody Dutch .. they can be terrible snobs .. unbelievable

Me a rebel .. I'll have you know I was also was a church organist and a catechist teacher before i left home... I must have overdosed on being good.

Hi @Jacques, @Mazarita, @Appleblossom, @Former-Member, @PeppiPatty and all

Thanks for thinking of me @jacques, very supportive.

Just wanted to let you all know I'm still around and reading/listening, dealing with a few things at the moment, so I have been a bit quiet as far as writing.

I hope you all enjoy the cold snap on it's way ... i know I wont, I don't do cold to well

Be kind to yourselves

Matt

Yes you were so lucky, my grandparents on both sides died when i was very young, so i never really got to know them. i still love the irony of my family germans fighting the dutch moving to Australia and getting married, maybe their is hope for humanity. i never heard any stories about my europeaan history, no one spoke about it, may have been to difficult.

yes some of the dutch seem to have an elitist attitude, my granparents would be horrified to see how i have not made something of myself, may have been disowned. ah well.....

wow, you sound like you were good when you were a child, i have always been a rebel, i was never able to follow rules or orders. at least you were good at some point

Yes that is a lot to overcome, being on different sides back in Europe.

Yes it shows that there is hope. Your parents put the old fights behind them and married and had you. Thats a success story. @Jacques Even if you dont want to agree with me just yet ..lol.

Its nice to see you reconnect with @hiddenite I am glad for both of you.

I was very goody goody. Even when others saw me as a baddy I thought I was good. I would be the one to look out for my friends if they had a bad acid trip .. kind of like a designated driver and a nurse.

Some people thought I was a snob cos I liked classical music, but I cant help it .. it resonates deeply for me. For a while I enjoyed blues, rock and jazz. @Troubled_One asked me if I liked DJs. Now I say I couldnt really commit to rocknroll cos I was already corrupted by Bach. I wasnt allowed to listen to popular radio or tv etc. It probably made me easily lead astray when I was young. I am glad as I can enjoy a very wide range of music now. I dislike pretension about music tastes. Never been into pop that much but we like what we like.

Hi @Appleblossom

Cool messages, i will read them al, probably tomorrow....

I started my proper journal tonight. Far out, im so xxxxxxx sad.

You say you love Bach....you know what im gonna ask.....what about Glen Gould? Lovely @WombatBoots and i posted our pets online.....i had an imaginary obssession on Gould and his music and Bach and his wonderful wonderful nRrative tapes of Living in the North, 1967.

When he taped people living in isolation and recorded their stories like he would write usic...in 1967.

Still one of my most fav. 'Music,' in my top 5

Sleep well my friend, Anne

Yes their is so much history for humans to get past. i am sorry if i have overstepped the mark with the whole multiculrural thing, just going on what i read and see, i don't see anyone, so i don't have any first hand experiance with it, i used to have some muslim friends when i was at tafe, great guys, but i coped a lot of problems with former class mates for socialising with muslims. anyway i am isolated now, so i have not contact with any of them anymore.

yes they did get married, but the family was totally against it, i get such a laugh at the wedding photo's mum family on one side and dad's mum on the other, both leaning away from each other.

yes i am glad Karen ( @hiddenite ) found me too, she is a very special lady, please do all you can to help her, she has been through a lot in her life. she needs all the support we can give her.

good for you, it is good to protect your friends when they are most vulnerable, wow you really did make the most fo your youth, i was always a rebel, right from as far back as i can remember, never able to follow rules or norms, always did what i wanted, i don't know where it all went wrong for me, i suppose life got in the way.

you are not a snob, i like all kinds of music (pop and country excluded) i love classical music, mainly anything with a piano, it seems to stir up some emotion, the haunting sounds, and the violin, oh my gosh both those instruments are so emotionally charged for me.

you are right, each to their own when it comes to music.
