Not doing so well

Not doing so well

I am really not sure what to say because I can't find the words to express how or what I actually feeling & thinking. I was feeling not so bad up until recently. I just think no one will understand. I think I need some extra support this weekend

Hi @oceangirl,

Sometimes it's ok to not have words. I think explaining this like you have done gives us an idea that things are tough right now.

What supports and plans do you have for over this weekend?

Re: Not doing so well

Hi @CherryBomb

Thank you for your message and I am finding it tough and feeling quite inadequate at present. I am struggling outside hospital. I did phone the hospital on Tuesday and I did get a phone call back yesterday because it was not a good time for me to talk. She was nice and she told me to call her back on the number displayed on my mobile because it was her direct line. Unfortunately I didn't have any luck calling her today.

Then I have the same dilemma to explain to her what is happening and I know I will struggle with this. I am trying to predict what questions she will ask me and to formulate my answers. Its not really about the right answers but being able to communicate to her effetively what is happening and to be able to provide her with the information that is most relevant.

I don't have much planned for this weekend but next week I have quite a bit on- with volunteering and appointments everyday.

I agree @Eden1919. I try not to put too much pressure on myself easier said then done.

Hi @oceangirl,

Sounds really unpleasant. Have you felt like this before?

Re: Not doing so well

Hi @oceangirl,

I'm just about to log off now. I hope these feelings pass and/or subside for you. The reason I asked if you've felt like this before, is because I was wondering what you have done in the past to get through feelings this. Would it be helpful to try this again?

Please keep talking on here if you find it helpful.

Re: Not doing so well

Hi @CherryBomb

I think I've had unpleasant feelings before and I am truly struggling. I have a few things bothering me and my biggest concern is the possibility of having a memory problem. Other things too from my recent hospital admission in March/April 2017.

I have daypatient admission coming up soon to assess this and I am scared to go someone I don't know and to be having the appointment for 4 hours. I am not sure if this is going to be good for me. I have the handout from the hospital and it gives an overview of what is going to happen but not much about the actual testing. After the testing I believe the specialist reviews the test and then I will have a consultation with her. All too much for me at the moment. I maybe worrying myself for nothing but I am still worried about it. I do have an appointment with the referring specialist next week and I might ask her if she can do the testing instead of me seeing the nurse. I guess I can only ask.

Re: Not doing so well

@oceangirl Thanks for letting us know what's going on for you. It's understanable to be scared. Speaking to your specialist and asking questions that are worrying are you is a great idea. We're all here to support you on this journey.
