That's why I don't like mental health because I worried about my privacy and with one on one with a therapist you have a say in your treatment. With mental health,as stated they take your file assess it in a group meeting .I didn't like their approach as they are social worker s mostly.I started studying social work years ago .I had one guy once showing me pictures like I was a child on mood and the brain.I was bored s****** and it wasn't help. That was the social work approach years ago to write on a whiteboard so the client could visualise their problems. The case management approach isn't for me.I was concerned last year when I had to go them because I wondered if they had me mentioned at the local hospital, where I know everyone. At the time I was high risk of SC.
If you aren't comfortable at any time, talk about it if possible, don't stay with anyone you aren't comfortable with or don't trust. At the end of the day outlander by my experience and a lot would agree, your family situation will never change,...But you can.The counseling should be about you, dealing with your issues whether it is the trauma of sexual assault or something your mother said that really hurt you etc.At the moment I feel they should be focusing on you.The holistic approach may be involving your mother but whether it works in reality is another question.
Stay safe outlander,I'm off to bed.It sounds like you know what is good for you and what isn't.😃
