@outlandersorry to hear you haven't slept.
Unfortunatley there is no quick fix, I think we all wish that there was. I understand the feelings of just wanting to disappear and not come back, been there plenty of times. Take it easy today and try and show yourself a bit of compassion. You have been through a lot lately and need to acknowledge that it hasn't been easy and it is understanable that you feel this way.
We all wish we could wake up in the morning and all of our problems have disappeared, but unfortunatley that is not reality, I really wish it was for all of us. Just take baby steps today, break the day down into hour by hour. Do not be hard on yourself if you don't do anything, thats ok, we all have days like that.
Big hugs today to you today ![]()

Hi @outlander
I just got out of bed myself and I did sleep - but I know how it feels not to
I guess you are exhausted and wonder where the great feeling you had yesterday went
Sort of used up and dry - sore eyes - rather sick and with pain in your heart and pain in your stitches
Okay - I don't know what happened last night and I don't need to but whatever it was - you didn't cause it - it was unintentionally taken the wrong way and I do know how devastating it is to have that happen
So just take today quietly and get over your operation - that is the first thing
And I know - you are bored - BORED - BORED BORED
Here's an idea for something do to - that is to surf the net over a subject that really interests you - it's one of my favourite things
I do so hope you feel better later - or sooner than later
Dec- sending owls today

I love what you said @Former-Member
You said what I wish I had.
I guess I will know you better pretty soon - I was getting ready for bed last night or we could have had a chat -
Maybe we soon will

Thanks @Owlunar,
I think it is easier sometimes to give advice than use it! What I wrote I sometimes struggle to do it myself, think that is the case for a lot of us.
Would love to have a chat at some stage!

I know @Former-Member
Personally I do not like being given advice - mostly I just suggest breathing and try and remind some people that because other people treat us badly doesn't make us bad people
However - as Dr Phil says - It takes thousands of "attaboys" or "attagirls" to get over the wrong messages so many of us get from those who we would imagine would be the most helpful - alas - so often - our families
Lately I have been getting an excess of advice - maybe not much at all - it just feels that way - not here - mostly good support but locally
Ah no!! - I have lost the cartlege inside my right knee - just on the inside - I have bone on bone there and it sorta clunks and I do not have to have an operation yet but wow - my cleaning ladies have been telling me that it's "nothing" - "the best thing someone had done" and "are you on a list for the operation? - and in a couple of weeks I have been overwhelmed - even my case-worker had more advice than suggestions and it is all destroying
So I know
And here we are chatting already - I think you are a new member - and you seem to be very sensitive to people and very caring - and this is wonderful
I am glad to meet you

@outlander, ok I am going to be blunt and put on my teacher voice!
I am concerned about you when you say you have to cancel your psychologist appointmet tomorrow. I don't think that is a good idea and especially how you have been travelling lately, it will probably be best to keep that appointment.
But, I do understand that it is difficult when you have the kids. Can someone look after them whilst you go see your psychologist? If not, can they come with you and sit in the waiting room? I am sure the older one can look after them there. My kids have had to come before and I just took a laptop with me and they sat in the waiting room and watched a video whilst I had my session.
I understand you probably feel a bit "stuck" in terms of having to look after them tomorrow, but I really think you need to put yourself first at this stage. In your struggles, you are the most important person.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I am just concerned and want you to feel better. ![]()

@Owlunarthanks for those kind words. I have seen you give advice to people on this forum and I always think it is very insightful and supportive.
I am quite new on here, I wish I had found it months ago!
Sorry to hear about your knee and the troubles you have had with it.
