Although your foot pain sounds like it will be a painful chronic injury, your GP has formulated a good management plan to keep you as active as possible. I'm also glad you were able to discuss with your GP your chronic suicidal thoughts and that she wants to see you when you have active suicidal ideation. It's important to be open and honest with your GP, that is something I myself have learned with time.

I'm also glad to hear you're feeling better than you did in the past. Remember, it's ok not to be ok.

Least you know what is wrong @outlander,I was going to see my doctor but he's away at a conference, try to see him next week, haven't been back for for foot x-ray but I basically know what's wrong. When I walk or out shopping like today my feet swell.I brought two hundred dollar shoes in April and the left one ripped in a month from swelling, the shop replaced them thinking it was a fault...I know it's my feet and it's only a latex very thin rubber on top of the shoes.I havent worn the replacement shoes,I know they will do the same.I need to lose fat too, when you haven't a job it's twice as hard and I live with a mother who buys crap, makes it hard, especially in my give up mode due to mental illness.

Sounds like you have a good mental health team, you are lucky.

@Former-Member
the only things ive found that aggrivate it is horse riding- one of the main things I do, a lot of walking- a lot of what I do everyday, riding the exercise bike and the cold.
It makes me feel bad because its hard for me to just stop doing what im doing. Its like doing the things I like, im being punished with pain.
Ive got orthotics for my shoes now too which I wear in my boots and I also have specially made thongs because they are my primary footwear even around the horses.

My new psych is really good. While I was in that state of crisis she helped me work out what the next step is and thats getting my mother to be a mother rather than me being a mum to them. Another step is working out how I can be supported and what I can do to help myself in the week my mum and her bf are going away.

I do the same thing whith my gp but generally if I dont show up they will call me and if I dont answer, I get three calls and then they ring other supports to check on me like ambulance or police.
So I dont really get a choice in a way. Its ok though its only once a week and she said that wen I get better at coping she will let me reduce it to once a fortnight unless she thinks otherwise o I choose to go. She said she doesnt care if I go everyday for a week if im in crisis.

It takes AGES for a prn to work if it works at all. Im trying to work out the meds though so I dont need a prn. Im on 2 different meds for MH plus pain relief & anti-inflammatories.
Im wondering since you have something similar to me- do you find any suppliments help you with pain or regeneration?

Re: when is it time for hospital

yes unfortunaltey it is a chronic and painful injury that is going to punish me everytime I enjoy myself.
Ive just got to keep up the pain management, do the exercises ive been given on the sheet she gave me and strap it it.
I was so embarrassed to tell her I self harmed and also about the suicdal thoughts.
I know its ok not to be ok but I feel embarrassed because I was going ok went into hospital and then got worse again. And I dont even know what gets me down like that.

Re: when is it time for hospital

yeah I know whats wrong now at least thats something. Better news would have been good but all well. Why dont you get the xray anyway. Its been ordered and itll just confirm your thinking. Your gp migh be able to help you better if they can see everything.
Could you buy an exercise bike and use it that way itll take pressure off your feet, you wont have to leave the hosue, your still getting some exercise..

and it took me a very long time to find this support network. I wwent through a lot of quacks before I found this gp and a heap of psychologists before this one. Its actaully nearly taken me a year to find a right support

Re: when is it time for hospital

I had a treadmill @outlander,when I moved back from trying to get a job elsewhere my bloody removalist said he couldn't fit it.I regret selling it.I never used it because it was too much impact on my feet.Did have exercise bikes years ago.I had the x-ray,just haven't been to the doctor for results.I hope your treatment goes well outlander.

Gee @outlander it sounds like you need to be off that foot. Why has it taken sooooooo looooong for them to find the problem. You poor thing. I guess it's no use telling you to rest with yours duties etc. sorry to hear this, I really am.

Re: when is it time for hospital

Its a lifelong thing now @Maggie but theres a very high chance that when i did do it if it was treated properly in the first place it wouldnt be like this now.
Its not really much point keeping off it. I cant keep iff it forever...
Now i have 2 joints with arthritis before the age of 21 😞
