Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

I guess different situations but similar fears @Determined

I think working through the grief for me was a big one for me, reaching a point of acceptance (but not of defeat), accepting our new life, whatever that is going to be.

I think too, although far too late, I learned about the mental illness, its treatments, and with that knowledge I was able to give infomation which lead to a treatment change, not sure if Mr Darcy is now deemed to be in remission but he is a lot more stable than he has been for a while.

There have been so many tears and disappointments along the way and I am sure there will be more, but I keep hoping that by learning I am more equipped to deal with what life throws at us.

Take care Bro

D

Freezing cold here this morning @soul trust you got some good rest last night, thanks again for being there to chat, feel bad for unloading like that 😐

Big boys have been on the go since 5 am 😣, managed a half decent sleep last night other than the early awakening. About to get into that report now. Bub still sleeping which is a wonder considering the noise his brothers are making. lol.

Don't feel bad at all @Determined. glad I could help. I was up bright and early too walking the dog. Came across a gargae sale and picked up some bargains.

Next message from you will be to say that the report is finished!!!!!

Lol @soul

I hope to talk to you again sooner than that :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Spoke to my darling this morning early, she sounded better than yesterday.

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

Just spoke to my darling on the phone,
We won't be making it down for a visit again today, I am still in no shape to make the drive even after a reasonable night sleep and I am actually making some progress on this report so don't want to break the momentum.

Darling was disappointed but understands my need to get this work done and conceded that a visit from excited children would be too much anyway. We are aiming to take the drive tomorrow after church.

There is still no improvement in her current cognitive difficulty which is frustrating for her and a concern for me. She had a really helpful nurse last night and this morning who took the time to walk and talk with her to pass time and provide some distraction, despite my negativity surrounding certain aspects of this process I cant fault the love and care demonstrated by the majority of staff at the hospital.

It just occurred to me that it is after 2PM and I am still sitting here in my pj's and have not left the house today at all.
On a more positive note I am at least out of bed and have made some progress on my report. Darling
would have a fit if she saw me in my pj's at this time of day lol

Yesterday it was after I got home when I realised that I had picked up the boys from school, went shopping and was at youth group wearing my ug-boots.... plenty of bogans around where we live so hopefully nobody noticed lol (still over-dressed by local standards, at least I was not in bare feet 🙂 )

Sounds like you'll on a roll. Look at the time you saved by not changing out of your pjs. I'm at my son's football match. Wasn't sure whether he would feel comfortable having me in the sidelines but I think he's pretty chuffed. Scored the equalizer going into the half time break

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

Dare I ask if you were you in your Mr Grumpy PJs @Determined? keeping warm with your ugh boots? (You might regret sharing that info Bro ...)

Good to hear that you have got a few things done. Can I share with you this dialogue...

Said the child to the master "I am afraid"
Said the master to the child "The outcome will be the same, with or without your fear"
