@soul thank you also for being there this afternoon 🙂
+ everyone else here.
It makes a difference being able to talk to people who understand where I am coming from.
To talk to people without fear of my darling or little ones being judged.

@Determined@Faith-and-Hope@Shaz51@Former-Member - I really admire the commitment that you have to your spouses. It is very hard to keep giving especially when you get nothing back or even worse - are outrightly rejected. At times, I feel that I should have tried harder to understand my partner and help him but I need to remind myself that often I wasn't in a safe situation.
Abuse became the new norm and it wasn't a case of will it happen again but rather when. The Beatles got it wrong when they sang "love is all you need" 😢

I understand the confused and angry @Faith-and-Hope but unfortunately I cannot accept hitting of girls not matter the provocation. My fear is that he is exhibiting similar traits to his mum and I need to address that sooner rather than later. (extreme fear of rejection/ abandonment leading to irrational behaviour that leads to the feared rejection and abandonment). Already talks about not wanting to be here which concerns me a lot.
While completely different circumstances I totally understand your polite through gritted teeth. I really feel for you at the moment. at least I have the support of my MIL. She has however inadvertently however created a lot of problems by example. (long story).
it is impossible when competing with outside influences that are deemed more important. (in our case it was so called friends with little respect for their husbands and no Idea really how hard it was to keep darling functioning. many cases of choosing the battle.

@soul,
From what you have shared about your situation I dont believe that you have anything to feel bad about as far as trying harder. In fact even after all that you have been through you have still tried to help form a distance. When it comes to physical safety then there is no option but to remove yourself to safety.
