On a positive note, pdoc is happy with how the treatment is going. Seeing positive results aparently.

Too bad it has come at the cost of her being cold and disconnected from me.

Practically ignored mum also this afternoon, thanks for driving determined and the boys down would have been lovely considering we would not have made it without her.

Oh @Determined - what mixed feelings you must have. Happy that your Darling and the kids are enjoying each other's company and that S2 had a nice birthday but really cut up by the lack of affection she has towards you.
Could she be blaming you for being in hospital and acting that way as a sort of passive aggressive response?
It must be heartbreaking all the same.

It's probably a good idea to have a break from visiting tomorrow. See how you feel before you make a decision about further trips to the hospital.
Seems like fatigue is winning and you need to get more rest than you currently are. Lack of sleep can put us in a mood of lessened tolerance and you don't want to be doing and saying things you might regret later.
For now, focus on the positives - you are keeping your family connected. It's still early days. I hope things get better for you.

Don't know much about the effects of that type of treatment @Determined but what I do know is that you are devoted to your Darling and no matter what you will reconnect with her. You have so much love in your heart, lots of patience and goodness.

It's okay to feel frustrated, tired and a bit hopeless right now. These are hard times for you but you have been through them before. There will be happiness and joy and lots of love again @Determined

I think my little driving escapade this afternoon proves I need a break.

The plan was to drop mum off in town for sister to pick her up. She drove me all the way home and sister picker her up from here. didn't even trust my ability to get home from town in one piece. (In a loving caring way)

I dont know but I feel the rejection is affecting me more than the fatigue.

Re: Diary of wifes hospital stay - holding it together for our family

It's understandable that the rejection you are feeling is affecting you in that way. You were taken aback yesterday by a perceived lack of warmth and then when you visit with the kids hoping for close and loving family time, you were faced with an aloofness that has worn you down. To say you were disappointed is an understatement.

Not wanting to visit again for a while in case you are met with the same reaction is something you have to decide. Skip tomorrow, see how you and your Darling feel, rest up a bit and take it from there.

Just got a reminder, have a councilling appointment on Thudsday so have to go down on Thursday unless I cancel again. Probably not a good idea.

Mum will have to come anyway to look after bub during my appointment.

Not looking forward to visiting again, really not 😣
