14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

I call myself fragile or delicato ... or delicatissimo .. if its in a music group. I am not as bad as I was 8-9 years ago with always being on the edge of tears.

I also know I am strong .. as you are Karen .. fragility need not have the negative connotations you put on it .. it can be a beautiful thing ... you wouldnt want to be hard as nails ...

Hi @Jacques glad you are bit better today.

I had a really good night last night but so slow today I couldnt get out of bed til after 4. Maybe its just the accumulation of recent stress .. I am doing better and not taking as many litttle white pills as I am allowed .. just one a day.

Hi Karen, i am worried about you, please don't push yourself too hard, try to get out into the sunshine, take some deep breaths, fresh air is really important my angel.

Well Mr Rooster slept in again this morning, he is still asleep as i speak, he is only 3 hours late i suppose.

the birdies are playing around in the yard, looking for worms and insects, the kookaburras are singing and the magpies are protecting their little ones.

Karen please be kind to yourself, remind yourself how much of a caring, kind, strong person you are.

School holidays is in reverse for mums. ..extra work.Just make what calls you need to protect yourself. Put it on them a bit to work out entertainments and games. Some therapists say put them in a room together til they work their own fights out. Thinking of you

Hi Karen, oh the joys of nothing to do, hey maybe take them to the movies, or get them a trampoline and put it in the yard of you up new home, that way you can sit on the balcony and watch them play.

I am thinking of you my angel sorry I am so late to respond, I was trimming some trees.

If you need some other activities I will ask my mum how she kept me occupied.

I am always here for you my angel

Re: 14th year house bound

my two are the same @hiddenite re the nothing to do stuff! card board boxes are good though. my lil girl had to make a memory box for school last week and my lil guy has made one too because he wanted one as well. so we got out the glitter and pasting stuff and made these fab boxes into which they put a few of their favourite things and a few photos that i covered in contact to make them last a bit longer. (i need to get a laminator!!). and the keep changing whats in them and sharing them. im hopin gthat will still be fun in the holidays but they get bored of stuff so fast! have you heard of geocaching? I've taken my kids out to do that a few times and they looove it! if you just google it you'll see what it is if you havent heard of it. if you have a smart phone you just download the app for it. a nice free activity!

Hi Karen,

Well another day is done, i hope you managed to find something for the girls to do, i hope you managed to do something today to put a smile on your face, and i hope you got some fresh air.

It was nice here today, i had a BBQ lunch which was nice and trimmed some trees, fitted my shed out with a sound system from old peices i had laying around.

it is quiet where i am tonight, i am having some chest pains and hyperventalating, i had the shakes pretty bad earlier on, but they seem to be gone for the moment.

Just really wanting to send you a message to say hi, so you don't forget me

Take care, be safe, and most importantly be kind to yourself.

Jacques
