14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

OMG Karen we will be able to compare notes on how annoying our roosters are, I love the fact it brings a smile to your face, the stupid rooster here slept in and didn't wake up till 9am, he has been going bazerk ever since.

Maybe I will need to buy him an alarm.

Mum says we should record him and set an alarm for 5am to get him up.

Oh the poor little guy, he is trying his best I suppose.

Yes the past week has been a bumpy ride, the anxiety seems to be getting worse though, I don't know if it is the medication having less effect or because I am pushing myself.

How are you feeling today? You have really brought a smile to my face with the rooster. It is a nice sunny day here, what's the weather like down your way?

Re: 14th year house bound

It's grey overcast and about 12 degrees, and some showers. I don't seem able to get warm today.

All I want to do is sleep I'm so exhausted.

School holidays start today so I have to pick the girls up at 2.30.

II'm going to struggle with school holidays as the girls cousin will be with us as well. It's a lot harder with three children, especially when one isn't mine.

They also want do go to Phillip island to mum and dad's holiday house. Good for them they will have a back yard to run in, walks, and going to the beach.

For me it's awfully triggering, the worst place I could possibly go. It's where we were married, the last place I saw him alive. Also there house is a constant trigger for where something really bad happened to me.

My treating team told mum I shouldn't be going, as I am too fragile.

I don't like being called fragile , that's as good as weak, pathetic, worthless, hopeless, helpless.

Hope your garden is growing

Karen

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh yes, you poor thing, it must be difficult with three children.

Karen is their another place you can go for a Holliday? Please don't feel pressured to go, your mental health is so much more Important, if it is a place that only has bad memories it is not worth the anxiety, would you be able to take the children to your new home?

Karen you and I are both fragile, it is nothing to be ashamed of, you are not any of those things you described being fragile to me means you are unwell and need to be kind to yourself.

Karen I will support you no matter what, you know that, you need to do what is best for you, the children have such big imaginations they would love playing in any big yard, your new place would be wonderful.

Karen it breaks my heart to hear you have so many bad memories, you should not have gone through the hard times you did.

My friend u am always here for you if you would like to talk.

Oh i think the word fragile must be the 'in' word at the moment... thats what my psychiatrist said about me at the last visit too sigh! I agree though, if you don't feel up to going away, don't. you can make the school holidays survivable at home. go for walks, go to a different playground, make a treasure hunt in the yard, each child make a map for someone else 🙂 School holidays start end of next week here, not sure how i'll manage either really lol but time does keep going no matter how we feel and they roll by before we know it.

hope you're doing ok Jacques, we've had no sun here the last few days and its freezing! but im hoping the sun peeps out for you where you are!

Hi Anne

Thanks for the kind words they mean so much when I'm this low.

Hi lj

Fragile I hate that not as much as being called a victim.

It's weird how sometimes it's just small things that tip the balance

Take Care

Karen

Re: 14th year house bound

Thank you @Former-Member, Since i don't have any children i didn't know what thewy could do, that treasure hunt sounds like a fantastic idea, maybe even Karen drop them off at a play adventure thing, they have them in the next town to mine, their is a climbing wall, a little, well big ball pit where kids can jump into, and other things kids like, i think you mentioned you took your children to one last school hollidays.

Oh @Former-Member, how is your little guy getting on with his greif? how is the little bunny? how are you? I hope you and the kids can have some rest and some happy times, you have had a rough few months, my thoughts are with you.

I am fine, had a rough few days, still a little down, but not SH today thank goddness. Yes it has been sunshine here all day, a little nippy but not too bad. spent most of the day outside, it still feels so weird to be outside through a week day for me.

Well i hope you survive the school hollidays ladies, make some happy memories for your children.

Take care

Jacques

Hi My Angel,

You have been a little quiet this afternoon, try to be kind to yourself, you know how to break things down, Mindfullness, progressive muscle relaxation.

My thoughts are with you my angel.
