14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen i am so sorry you worried all night,

It was so tough for me i SH so much last night, i am still down, but not as bad, i was so down, it started out just as a low mood but spiraled as the night went on, the SH is getting so out of control lately, but it seems to be the only way for me to cope, i need to find another outlet, but i don't know if i can i have been SH for so long, i seem to not be away from it for too long. Karen i am unable to feel pain anymore with the SH...... it is so scary.

Sorry Karen, it is your special day iand i am carrying on about myself, so no more about me today, it will be all about you my friend.

it is a happy and sad day for me today. Happy that my guardian angel has been on this earth for 44 years, but sad that i have only known her for just over a year, have a nice day my friend, please try to see today not as past wasted, but as the start of a new future, With great friends, Nice home, and beautiful memories.

Happy Birthday my friend, you are more special to me than you will ever know.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh wow Jacques thank you so much.

I cannot believe that you wrote down the date of my birthday not knowing if we could even find one another. It truly shows how special you are, thoughtful and kind.

I'm so sorry you are still struggling Jacques what can I do to help. Please let me know, I will do anything for you so you don't have to struggle.

My sh is either not eating or eating too much, I was so ashamed I what I was doing before that, I managed to stop because I didn't want the girls to see the end result. It wasn't easy and it makes the lows very intense because I don't have a way to express a healthy emotion.

Jacques I think this is the time where you need to accept what is happening to you. The more you fight it the harder it is to stop, and you make it stronger by paying attention to it.

I hope it makes senses.

Like with shaking the harder I try to stop shaking the more I shake.

Accept it and move forward.

Jacques they are just thoughts, they do not define who you are. You are not your thoughts. You do not have to act on them.

I know it's easier said than done.

You know this will pass, as nothing stays the same.

I am here for you unconditionally Jacques.

If you want me to leave you alone I will you just need to tell me what I can do for you my very special friend.

Take care stay safe

Karen

Karen, my angel, you just speaking to me is so soothing, thank you.

Yes you do make sense, I know I have to accept it. But my instinct is to fight it.

Karen you are so special to me, thank you for being their for me, I have never experienced such kindness, I still can't get used to having a friend.

I don't know if I would be able to fight without you.

I am shaking bad at the moment, still the adrenaline I think.

You are the only one Karen who knows I SH no one else knows.

Thank you my friend, you are so special, thank you

Re: 14th year house bound

Hey, welcome. You have a great deal of courage in being so honest and sharing your story. Wish I had your sort of courage. I'm new here (sort of). I have posted my story-but it's a fictionlised version of a true story. My way of dealing with stuff is to write about it. (Doesn't take as much courage as you have shown). It's not for everybody - but writing has really helped me.

I started from this site : www.writingyourselfwell.com

Here seems a great place to write alot. I'm trying to write a poem a day (as discipline). You must have a good relationship with your mom?

There's loads of help and advice on here. And very nice people who have made me very welcome.

Hope that here helps you.

Kind regards,

Stan.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hey Jacques

Yeah it's really something no one want to talk about, I understand how much pain your in and how much you are hurting. When I was in the mhu they told me it was better to do that than the other. The key is to find a healthy release. I don't know what mine is. Probably food....

But really if you want to be honest nothing works better.

Acceptance

Use your senses

Breathing meditation

Safe place mental imagery

Positive affirmations

Break your days into hours

Tara pod cast

Mandalas

Walking meditation

Distract

There are so many options they all take time and practice, hard to do when overwhelmed and triggering, and anxiety.

I get how difficult this is.

Jacques I'm hear and listening

Jacques I'm at the house I've lit a beautiful fire, come and sit with me for awhile, it's toasty warm.

I can hear all the birds, king parrots, kookaburras, rosellas, cockatoo, there is even a rooster I can hear every time I hear it I think of you j.

The river is running fast I can hear so many frogs.

I see beautiful camelia trees huge covered in bright pink flowers. Huge tree ferns as tall as the house. Manner gums, Blackwood trees, wattle.

I can smell the fire burning. Also the sweet smell of the Bush.

Come and join me J. You are my only very best friend I want to share this with you.
