14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Jacques coming from someone who wasted 24 years in an abusive and violent relationship, I know what wasting a life looks like. I loathe myself, ashamed, humiliated, guilt, blame myself for not being good enough deserve it for not making him happy. Worthless.... I don't belong anywhere, I feel that my children would be better off without me. Now that pathetic.

We all have a story to tell our battles to fight.

It will pass I promise...

Tomorrow's a new day...

Hang in there my friend

Re: 14th year house bound

Dear @Jacques

I hope you are doing ok in your safe place and in your healing activities. I can go from feeling strong and thinking I have finally conquered my SI and then a week later I am overcome by it again. We just have to hang onto the positive.

It was GREAT you had your walk.. pat yourself on the back more ... better than me.

Dont over-react to @CherryBomb's post on the 365 Project thread. She was being caring of the whole group feeling and that includes you. She wasnt just telling us off .. @Ace85 was sensitive, made a valid point, but I had a such a different experience, both should be allowable. I never had discussions at the table growing up ... I hear of other families were they can talk about anything, including politics and religion, and it is lively, vibrant and intelligent discussion ... its what I always wanted ... we had to be silent in the orphanages ... and mostly I had to be mother as a girl as mum never ate with us after dad died ... so I had to look after the younger ones from 11. I crave it so much ... just talking normally ... why so many taboo subjects.

Please its not a total rejection of you ... the post was allowed ... but it was just a request to tone down the political side of it. Am I right @CherryBomb? I feel a bit responsible as I was so overjoyed to see the end of Mr Rabbit, but I still respect @Ace85, especially as she is sensitive about voicing her opinion. You havent blown your reputation here .. you have already done too much good.

Be safe.

@hiddenite cares and I care about YOU

... and @hiddenite is truly amazing .. I was worried about her managing the carpet and damaging her hands and breathing in all the dust ... thinking she needs to get a dust mask if she is going to do it herself .. but also that she is also a mum now and doing it all on her own ... so she should really pace herself ... and call in tradies when she can ... and to take her time rather than burning out by doing too much at once. The house doesnt have to perfect for the girls ... just a safe place to sleep, eat and play. Its a different sense of time when you have to be on call 24/7 so she needs to keep something in reserve.

Heya everyone,

Thanks for bringing this up @Appleblossom - I certainly wasn't trying to tell anyone off, and I'm sorry if I came across that way. As you pointed out @Appleblossom it was more a request everyone (not anyone in particular) to be mindful that political discussions can often can heated.
