14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

@hiddenite and @Jacques you are both amazing doing all that hands on work. So productive and you will feel the benefits. I dont do much like that anymore .. just a bit around the house and garden.

Really Really Karen ... it is hugely courageous to take on this project. And a great role model to your girls and to us all on the forum.

Try and dry wet spots out .. maybe a heater. How long was the house empty before you bought it? Do you know anything or talk to someone about damp courses? Was it just the carpet ... is house brick weatherboard etc ... hardware people usually love discussing things like that.

Thank you @Appleblossom, i am sure if your neck was ok you would do the same, we all do what we can, how are you tonight?

How is the singing going? it is such a shame you can't play many instruments any more, it must be so frustrating.

mum deserves a nice house, she has lived in a broken down house for so long, it is the least i could do for her.

Re: 14th year house bound

Last weeks Sat, then Thurs Fri and concert on Sunday was singing for the French prgoram .. Thanks for asking. It was good but one of my audience members was not well with a migraine .. I was delicate and on my extra pills, and her father who I bumped into in the gardens was looking for to pick her up was hobbling along with badly infected foot ... it was what it was but the sun was shining.

I am giving it a rest at the moment and doing recorder. Still very glad to have done that program and gotten to know those works. All the preparation keeps me focussed and usually chipper and cheerful.

Nothing to forgive ... I actually responded to another earlier post too but mods took it off as they said there was identifying information ... which there wasnt ... havent gotten back to me to explain ...

I was sorry you were upset about not walking but also amazed by Karen's work on the house.

I just wanted you to know that I will always try to respond if you address me directly ... if I dont there's simply a glitch somewhere in the system, or I have been able to get online.

Hi Jacques

I've just finished getting up all the timber pieces with the nails in it. My hands are a mess, but at least it's done.

I am back in the car until I pick the girls up from school, really low today but I don't know why.

I hope you managed a walk today or some time in the garden. Have your shrubs survived the pests.

Thinking of you, hope you are ok

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Appleblossom

Thank you for the kind words.

The house has only been empty since it settled so that's 16 days. It's a weatherboard buts the water stains are under the carpet underlay. Thanks for the suggestions.

Take care

Karen
