14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen, my angel, i have the same problem throwing up when i get too stressed, i used to throw up every day when i was at high school, i still get it sometimes now if i have to do something i am not expecting, i think it is our bodies way of dealing with the stress and extra chemicals in the brain.

I am here if you want to talk, remember you can't say anything to me that i have not thought myself. you will not upset me, i would like to help you challenge your thoughts.

You are a kind and caring woman, you have so much kindness to share with the world, i have seen glimpses of your caring and kindness when you speak to me, you are special, to me and many others on this forum, remember that.

Hi Jacques

I hope that you managed some rest last night and that the chest pains have stopped.

I asked mum to take the girls to school I don't feel well enough to drive.

I'm not working at the house I'm just going to rest.

Maybe I'll feel better.

Do you have any plans for today?

Did you and your mum have a nice time out yesterday or did the anxiety take over.

Take care J

Hi My Angel,

Oh no that is no good, i am wondering if you caught a bug?

No i had a shocker night, had restless legs, and i had severe involentary movment of my limbs, so annoying.

I am glad you are listening to your body and resting, good girl.

Yes i am going to put up a ranghood for the new stove, hoping i can fit it ok.

Yes we had a nice day, i was really anxious as usual, but i fought it like you do and made it through, it was so nice to drive with the windows down, the temp was so nice, god i love spring, looking at all the new born animals in the paddocks and the new born wildlife, i love animals so much.

Take care my angel, i am thinking of you.

Thanks J

Good luck with the rangehood at least it's a good distraction.

Jacques I was wondering how do you manage the involuntary muscle movements. I have them all the time, particularly annoying at night when I'm trying to be still.

Do you know what causes them. Or is to another one of those things we have to accept.

Good luck today I am thinking of you

Re: 14th year house bound

I Don't manage it, my muscles just move on their own, it goes all night, so annoying, i get them through the day too, i have just read that it is caused by excess adrenaline from the anxiety fight/flight response, so it looks like you and i are just going to have to live with it, they suggest excercise to burn off the adrenaline and drink plenty of water.

you can get medication for it, but it has many side effects.

Rest up my angel, listen to your body.
