14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Sorry, just joining your conversation with @hiddenite ... you were being polite about making good parenting suggestions re garden ... it seemed to her and to me like a good boundary to cross ... I just have a little "boundary alert beeper" in my mind ... that says notice this ... learn about that etc...

Hi Jacques

Thanks for the ideas that's awesome I will defiantly get boxes for the girls and put sensory items in it and things to distract. What a wonderful thing for the girls. Jacques you are such a kind and gentle man, your help makes my life that little bit easier I am so grateful.

I've never had anyone care about the girls or myself so I am humbled that you would care about us.

The girls have a box each that they put special things in to remember their dad. I took them to the shops today and we found little china blue birds sitting on a rock with the word love on the bottom. So I got then one to put in their dad box. There were a few tears. My heart breaks to see them hurting.

I had to go to the Dr today my eyes are so bad I can barely see they are so swollen and red, I look shocking. He said maybe a virus. So hopefully the new eye drops will work.

I hope you got some time in the garden. How are the flowers going.

Thinking of you j

Karen

Hi Karen,

I am so glad one of my ideas will be good for the girls, Karen i care very much about you and your girls, you have all been through so much, the girls lost their dad, and you had horrible experiances, you all deserve as much care as anyone can give.

Their Dad box sounds wonderful, wow you are such a good mum, yes i could imagine it is so hard seeing the girls hurt so much, i think mum gets upset to see how my life has gone, i suppose you feel a sense of helplessness, but the girls are lucky to have a mum like you, i don't know ttoo many women who put so much time and love into their children, you are special and i hope one day the girls really appreciate how much you have done for them.

Oh No Karen, a virus, you poor thing, i hope the eye drops do the job, this is the last thing you need, at least you have got something for it and are on the road to recovery.

Yes Karen i spent the day cleaning the shed, kitchen and BBQ, the house is a mess from the electrician, and i can't stand things being out of place with my OCD so i had to reorganise the tools in the shed.

Some good news i think the frogs are back, i think i heard them today.

I do hope tomorrow is not to hard on you and the girls, i will be thinking of you

Re: 14th year house bound

Thanks Jacques
I know tomorrow is going to be difficult for you too.

I hate things being out of place, especially when renovating . It's great to have the end result but the mess in between is awful.
Mess really stresses me out. I would like a way to renovate without the mess.
All I want to do is clean.

I'm so glad the frogs are back you must be doing so well with the garden frogs are very particular where they choose to live.

I'll be with you tomorrow holding your hand I understand how hard it's going to be.

But I also know that your dad would be so proud of you Jacques just like I am.

Stay strong my friend and take care
Karen

Karen you are too kind to me, Thank you, yes i am planning to go to the cemetary tomorrow and put some new flowers on my fathers grave. i have forgoten what he looks like, sounds like, and smells like, sometimes, actually anytime a walk past someone who smokes i think of him, the aroma of tobacco brings back so many good memories for me, sorry Karen i know it does the opposite for you.

Karen Maybe we should start a house reno thread for people with OCD, lol, we could write a book.

You truly are my gardian Angel, thank you so much, it means a lot that you will be thinking of me.

try to do something tomorrow that takes the girls minds off of fathers day, it is going to be tough enough. i will be here tomorrow if you need to talk.

Thank you Karen, you are too kind.

You and i should write a book about reno's and having OCD, lol.

Yes i have the same urge, i usually spend more time cleaning than working.

I have forgotten what my father looked like, sounded like and smelled like, i sometimes, no anytime i walk ast a smoker it brings back fond memories, sorry it probably does the opposite for you.

Karen tomorrow is going to be a tough day for you and the girls, make sure you do something to take their mind off of the day.

What are you and the girls up to tonight?
