14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Thanks @Jacqueswomanhappy: You are too generous to think about ownership in that way. Its ok ..I was being playful not serious. But also trying to work out internet ettiquette in my muddling way, and chip in rather than being tongue tied ... thank god for keyboards I am much less finger tied ... ???

In recorder talk they say an instrument "speaks well" if it is a good instrument. ... so much slippage in using figurative language.

I still need choirs and other people's words put in my mouth to get that faculty going.

Hi @Appleblossom,

Good luck to finding out or learning about internet ettiquite, it is evolving so fast when you think you have figured it out, it changes, i suppose you could see it like social trends, it comes and goes, the internet and/or it's ettiquite is always evolving, you just need to navigate it as best you can.

i don't know about speaks well, good instrument, i have heard some violins played that sound horrible, then a expert picks it up and it sounds like heaven, same with pianos, it is down to the person putting their emotion into the instrument, their passion.

You are doing a wonderful job navigating the forum, you should be proud, not many people care about what they say on the internet, or think because they can't be seen they can some how pick on or be down right nasty to others, they are called trolls, they sit on the internet all day looking for people to put down.

Hi Karen,

Just checking in to see how you are going and how you got on today.

The electrician and I got the last of the lights wired, YAY we now have lights in every room, for the first time in 20 YEARS!!!!!!!, we have decided to wire up our new stove and powerpoints, so the whole house will be redone. We have not had an oven or 3 hotplates working in 6 years, so it will be nice to be able to have a roast again. It is going to be a big cost, but one that is worth it, to give mum and i peace of mind to know we will not burn the house down if we have the stove on or air conditioning. We have been very worried about it for a long time, we always where on "Tender hooks" worrying about having everything on at once, if we cooked we had to turn off the AC, if we wanted the AC we had to stop cooking, it was not pleasent.

Sorry i am woffling on, what i am saying is it will be nice to be able to use everything in the house again, it fells so weired tonight to have lights, mum and i went around every room and turned the lights on just because we could. it was fantastic.

Sorry enough about me, how are you today? how did you go with your home?

I had a thought about your yongest daughters anger problem, i was wondering if it would be worth while seeing you have your own home now to put in a little veggie garden for her to be diggin and planting, nurchering and growing some veggies. It might give her something constructive to focus on, give her something to look forward too? itf i am crossing any boundries just let me know, i don't want to interfere, it was just a thought.

Take care my friend

Jacques

Hi Jacques

That's a wonderful idea about the vegetable garden. Please feel free to make any suggestions I am open to anything that will help my girls.

The girls have a rose tree each which they planted after their dad died, they do a great job of looking after them.

I'm sorry I haven't posted but I've had an allergic reaction to something and my eyes are so swollen I can hardly see. I cannot even drive.

I am so glad that now you can use the lights in the house without worrying about the risk of a fire. It must have also affected your anxiety J.

Congratulations you are such a strong, intelligent, inspiration Jacques. You are a capable person and you continue to push the boundaries, yes it is excruciatingly difficult but you do it. I'm so proud.

I hope you get some time in the garden over the weekend

Thinking of you

Karen

Hi Karen,

I am going to look into ways to help your girls online, i am sure i will come across something, they sound like great kids. That is so beautiful, 2 roses, what a great idea, so they are into some gardening, that is great, maybe at your new house they can expand the garden.

OMG Karen that is awful, i wonder what could have caused it, i have bad hayfeaver at the moment, my eyes are like sandpaper.

You may be right, mum and i went around and turned all the lights on because we could, it did feel good not to have to worry about it. i am so thankful we where in a position to do it.

Karen it is so nice to be speaking to you again, i really miss it when you are not online, (i'm not being creepy or anything) i just worry about you, you are pushing yourself too, i know how hard it is, you are doing so well, keep up the good work. it looks like we might both improve our self esteem in the proccess

Yes i am hoping to get in the garden, but i am going to clean the kitchen ready for the stove to go in. fingers crossed he can wire it up on monday with no problems.

Take Care Karen, get well soon

Jacques

Hey Jacques

I think it was the chemicals I've been using chemicals to try and remove the mold off the walls. It's such a slow process.

I miss talking to you so I must be creepy too. You are never far from my thoughts J. I get through the tough times because you inspire me to fight on. So thank you my friend.

The girls have tried to grow vegetables from seeds but we haven't had any luck.

I was outside my house yesterday standing on the deck when 7 king parrots flew to the railing on the deck. There was even one standing upside down on the guttering looking down at me.

Then 2 cookaburras flew down to the tree next to the house. The whole time I could hear the river flowing.

Take care J

Karen

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh yes, please be careful those mould removers are very toxic, i have used them before, make sure you wear a face mask and some eye protection.

OMG i am so jealous, you are so lucky, i think you have bought the right house, i would love to be standing on the deck with you, so much wild life, you are so lucky, we sometimes get rosellas sitting on the fence, but the river sound must be bliss, i wish i had a river close enough i could listen too.

Yes i am struggling to get the porchalacas to grow, it is a ver yslow proccess, maybe buy some seedlings maybe the way to go, give the girls a good start, i was thinking about getting some tomato seedlings too.

Some boundaries are meant to be broken ... the problem is knowing which ..
