14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Sounds like you feel your life would be different if you could move. Is there any chance you could take a small step in that direction @Jacques? Maybe even a holiday or train trip out of there ?

Re: 14th year house bound

i tried at christmas, i went away with mum on a "holliday" i still have not recovered, everything has gone to hell since then, my excercise, my mood, my reality, everything. i wish people could see i am trapped, i don't want to be here, but i can't go anywhere, i am stuck in a vortex, too frightened to do anything, whatever i do seems to make the panic worse.

all i can do now is try to exist as best i can, tollerate this life for my mother.

I know somebody who is incredibly shy, avoids and wont talk to people, has her strategies of keeping people especially men away, however she has travelled aound Europe a few times.

She just managed necessary interactions .. you can still do things.

Hi Jacques

I'm so sorry you are feeling this low.

If you are at your desk have a good look at the farm use your senses to stay in the present. He pig must have enjoyed the rain, is the rooster still waking you up too early.....

Have your seedlings sprouted yet,

Please Jacques you know the stuff break your day into hours plan to distract.

Use you five senses to stay in the present.

Breathing meditation

Progressive muscle relaxation

Listen to music

Pod cast Tara

Please try for a little while

I know the other helps but there are always options.

You are not your thoughts Jacques, they are just thoughts, and you don't have to act on them.

Accept them for what they are just thoughts.

I am with you j holding your hand I'm not going to let go.

I have a two hour trip for my meeting with the treating team.

But I will check back in.

Take care Jacques and stay safe, you are not alone my friend.

Re: 14th year house bound

Thanks Nik

Still trying to get the hang of this online stuff.

J put it this way you can vent without worrying anyone or upsetting someone. There is nothing these guys haven't heard so that really get it. Also they won't sensor what you say.

They are there for you to hear about your thoughts and suicide stuff.

Please j if I can so can you.

I can feel how low you are

I have to go to my treating team appointment now but I will be back to see how you are
