14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

We had an amstrad back then ..

I knew quite a few people who liked to build computers .. I hate this upgrade every 2 years mentality ..most of the good nerds I knew hated it too. They took pride in having old computers stuck together with sticky tape lol I bet you could do that too.

They are amazing inventions but I am not too keen on all the marketing cos I think they have also caused a few problems for human society .. maybe we will never be able to measure their net worth. Never mind thats me grumping.

Re: 14th year house bound

oh yes my current computer is 7 years old and can out perform most new computers, it is not how new something is it is how well you build it.

i think the same computers are all about marketing and the internethas been hijacked by corporate greed and government paranoia. i think the techology as a whole has done more bad than good.

it is a shame because they could have been so much more.

Re: 14th year house bound

My Angel that is so nice of you to say, it is a shame it does not translate into the real world for me.

i am shocked it would devastated you if something happened to me, you would be alright, you have you two little bundles of joy, Karen i could never judge you, i have never lived your life, i can never understand how bad things where for you because i have never experianced what you have gone through. now all i see is the intelligent caring, artistic woman who is struggling to find her way.

for you my angel i will try to be kinder to myself, please don't worry about me i will not do anything silly yet, mum still needs me.

Karen you get unconditional love from your 2 girls, i don't know why i connect with you so well, i just do, you are special to me, you are partly the reason i keep going, i want to see you happy and have a loving home for your family. you are the only person who can bring a smile to my face, for that i am forever grateful, i nearly forgot what it was like to smile.

anyway enough about my whining, what are you and the girls up to tonight?

Re: 14th year house bound

Jacques you are not whining , you know I am still here today because if you. One person cared for me when no one else has. You support me and understand what things are like for me. Our symptoms are so similar. You didn't make me feel so alone. I didn't know someone else could feel the things I do.
You challenge me every day , to fight when I truly don't want to anymore.
You know how I feel without me telling and you know what to say to make things better for me.
Thank you will never be enough.
Im sure my girls would give you a huge hug for helping me fight.
when I feel that they wiuld be better off without me.

J I appreciate everything you do. Even teaching me how to navigate the computer and internet.

I don't know anyone that would support someone they don't even know.

The girls and I have been practicing their dancing. They went straight to bed and fell asleep straight away. Thank goodness.

Sending you a virtual good night sleep.

take care
karen

Re: 14th year house bound

Some truths that I am happy to see on this forum are that people struggling with sanity

1) can be highly ethical people .. not just the norm

2) they can be highly artistic

3) they can be caring

4) they can be honest and appropriately affectionate

If we honestly touch another person's soul/being I dont mind what type of language is used, we are changed.

I struggle with neck pain and it is probably that that might push me over the edge. I just want to get to a place where I can give myself the dignity that if it gets too bad I will call it euthanasia and I know that anyone who loves me will be ok about it because they will know it brings me peace and relief and it is not directed at them, because I will have made that very clear..

First I have to make sure somehow that my son gets a fair go .. he didnt at school .. I am VERY angry with a child psychiatrist @hiddenite in an unspecified Melbourne institution who just wanted to sit on her fat rump collect a secure overfull paycheck and do the dirty flirty with my exhusband, accuse me of catastrophising, and allow my son to go without the help he needed and put an extra weight on my back .. but never mind that is what mothers are called to do. That professional should have set up supports for him when he was 8 years old. They are very fallible but it is the system we have. I address this post to any moderators reading too.

Maybe my truth means nothing but maybe it has a positive or strengthening effect for you that I can share it.
