14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

OMG Karen,

I am so angry at your mother, what a thing to say, she does not seem to have any motherly instinct at all, what is wrong with her?

Karen going to hospital may help, it may not, but isn't it worth a try, anything to control the dark thoughts, to help the night terrors, any help at all would be better than nothing.

What is it with your mother and weight? she seems to be very biggited and it sounds like she has been very lucky in life not to have been treated bad.

Sorry Karen, it really upsets me how you are being abused by her. You deserve so muc hbetter, you deserve respect.

Hi @hiddenite,

What your mum said it horrible. When people say/do things like this, please remember that it's not a reflection on you.

Ok, so your psych wants you to go to hospital. I know this is a triggering for you in terms of SI. Can you please tell @Jacques and I some things you can do tonight to stay safe. One day at a time Karen. You've been here before, you can get through this?

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen i so wish i could be their to support you, you would never feel ashamed or humiliated if i was their to support you, you deserve so much more love and support than you are getting from your family.

Karen please don't feel ashamed, you have been hurt, abused terrorised and tortured by your late husband, you are living in a highly stressful and abusive house now, don't allow you late husbands abuse to continue, you are not pathetic, selfish or weak, you are strong, you reach out for help even when you don't want to, you are scared but you still try to get help, you are a loving mother, a caring woman, and have the kindest, sweetest soul i have ever seen, to me you are amazing.

You do anything for the girls even if it affects your MH, you sacrafice so much, this shows how selfless you are Karen, i so wish i could give you a hug, be their in person to tell you face to face how wonderful you are.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Jacques sorry I haven't been around. Really struggling. I'm so unwell between the anxiety, the intrusive thoughts and IBS. I'm a mess.

I've spent 4 hours driving to school and appointments my eye sight is the worst it's ever been. To make things worse it's raining and driving conditions are awful.

I'm thinking of you.

And so grateful for your kindness and support.

Hope you are ok

Karen
